What is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a practical, evidence‑informed approach that helps people understand how thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, behaviours, and situations all influence one another.
This is known as the Five‑Factor Model. By exploring these connections, CBT supports people in noticing patterns, reducing overwhelm, and building new ways of responding that feel more grounded and supportive.
CBT can be helpful for anxiety, stress, low mood, overthinking, self‑doubt, and unhelpful habits. We’ve created a simple carousel that explains the model and how it can be used in everyday life.
If you’re curious about CBT or wondering if it might be a good fit, we’re here.

Feel‑Good Friday is the perfect time to release some of the tension you’ve been carrying. Try softening your jaw, dropping your shoulders, or relaxing your hands. It’s amazing how much relief comes from something so small.

A little love from our Friends & Family Open House. Since opening on March 1, Grey Bruce Therapy Clinic has already been filled with so much warmth. The laughter, flowers and support tonight were a bright reminder of the community that’s growing around this space.
We’re open and accepting new clients, and we look forward to welcoming more of our community in the months ahead.

What is IFS?

Internal Family Systems is a compassionate, evidence‑informed approach that helps people understand their inner world. IFS explores the different “parts” within us — protective parts, parts that hold pain, and the calm, grounded Self that can lead with clarity and care.

Many people find IFS helpful for trauma, anxiety, stress, shame, inner conflict, or feeling “stuck.” It offers a way to understand yourself without judgment and to support the parts of you that have been working hard for a long time.
We’ve created a simple, accessible carousel that explains the core ideas of IFS and what it can look like in therapy.

If you’re curious about IFS or wondering if it might be a good fit, we’re here.

The May 24 long weekend is here — and whether you’re heading out, staying home, or doing a whole lot of “we’ll see what happens,” you deserve a weekend that feels good in whatever way works for you.

You don’t need big plans to enjoy the next few days. Sometimes the best moments are the tiny ones: noticing something that makes you smile, taking a slow breath, or letting yourself settle into the pace you actually want.

Swipe through for a few playful ways to be present this weekend — even if your plans are delightfully uneventful.

Wishing you a gentle, joyful, or wonderfully simple long weekend.

What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence‑based therapy that helps the brain process difficult experiences, emotions, and sensations that can feel “stuck” or too close to the surface.
Using bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tapping, or sound), EMDR supports the brain’s natural healing process in a safe, structured, and collaborative way. Many people find EMDR helpful for trauma, anxiety, grief, stress, and past events that continue to impact the present.

Feel Good Friday tip - something simple and doable. Choose one thing that takes 60 seconds or less and helps your body feel even a little bit better - a slow breath outside, a shoulder stretch, a glass of water, putting your phone down for a moment. These tiny shifts genuinely help your nervous system settle.

You don't need a big routine, or a full reset. Small relief counts, and small wins add up.

We were happy to share our space with Mayor Peabody and Christine earlier this week. Looking forward to welcoming our community to the Grey Bruce Therapy Clinic!

A warm welcome to Grey Bruce Therapy Clinic!

Brockton Mayor Chris Peabody recently met with the clinic’s team at their new Walkerton location at 11 Durham St E. From left: Becky Hunt, Mayor Peabody, Ellen Lippert, and Jenna Elvidge. The three psychotherapists provide important counselling services for trauma and emotional well-being.

With support from Brockton’s Community Improvement Plan (CIP) grant program, the clinic recently installed a new sign outside their building - an investment that enhances both their visibility and our downtown streetscape.

We’re proud to support local businesses through programs like the CIP grant and are excited to see Grey Bruce Therapy Clinic grow in our community. Thank you for choosing Brockton!
