We are anticipating a smooth transition, but you never know with these things - it should not affect your appointments, but on the off chance it does, we will work with our clients to ensure a quick resolution! And some things (confirmations, ect.) you are used to seeing, might be a little different.

How Compression Garments Actually Help (Not Restrict) Lymph Flow 🧦💧

One of the biggest myths I hear is:
👉 “Compression garments must block or restrict flow because they feel tight.”

But here’s the truth: compression garments don’t block your lymph – they guide it. Let’s break it down 👇

💡 The Science Behind Compression
• Gentle External Pressure: Compression garments provide a light, even pressure to the tissues.
• Closing the Gap: This pressure reduces the distance fluid has to travel, making it easier for your lymphatic vessels to pick it up.
• Preventing Backflow: Instead of letting fluid pool in the tissues, compression keeps it moving upward toward healthy drainage areas.

👉 Think of compression as a “hug” that gives your lymph a push in the right direction. 🤗

✅ What Compression Garments Do
• Encourage lymph fluid to move out of swollen areas 🚶‍♀️
• Reduce the risk of further swelling or fibrosis
• Support tissues after MLD (Manual Lymphatic Drainage)
• Improve comfort and mobility in daily life

❌ What They Don’t Do
• They do NOT “cut off” circulation when properly fitted
• They do NOT replace lymphatic therapy
• They are NOT meant to be painfully tight

🔑 Key Tip
Compression should always be:
✔️ Correctly measured and fitted
✔️ Comfortable enough to wear daily
✔️ Paired with movement, hydration, and MLD for best results

✨ Compression garments are not the enemy — they are powerful tools for lymph health and healing.

🌿 WAKE UP YOUR LYMPH — MORNING ROUTINE FOR A HEALTHIER FLOW
By Bianca Botha, CLT, RLD & MLDT

Your lymphatic system works through the night to filter waste, balance fluids, and protect your immune system — but it has no pump of its own. That’s why the first few minutes after you wake are the perfect time to give it a gentle boost.

Here’s how:
1️⃣ Stretch Before Your Feet Hit the Floor – Wake up your muscle pumps to start moving lymph from your arms and legs toward your torso.

2️⃣ Deep Belly Breathing – Your thoracic duct passes through the aortic hiatus of your diaphragm (not the esophageal opening). Each breath helps pump lymph upward into your bloodstream.

3️⃣ Hydrate Immediately – A glass of water keeps lymph fluid thin and moving smoothly.

4️⃣ Gentle Movement Within 10 Minutes of Waking – Light walking, toe bounces, or stretches activate calf and thigh muscles to keep lymph flowing.

5️⃣ Open the Main Drainage Pathways – Lightly massage above your collarbones, underarms, and behind your knees to “open the gates” for better flow.

✨ Tip: Even 3 minutes of this routine can help reduce puffiness, boost immune readiness, and increase your morning energy.

Extreme heat can be dangerous, especially for young children, older adults, those with chronic health conditions and people without access to air conditioning. Keep an eye on loved ones and neighbours to make sure they’re coping okay!

Never leave Children OR Pets in a hot car, even for a few minutes.

THE HEAT IS BACK! 🥵

After a chillier few days across Southern Ontario, we’re heading straight back into sweltering conditions just in time for the weekend.

A multi-day heat event kicking off Thursday will see temperatures soar into the low to mid 30s across much of the region before even factoring in the humidex. With the humidity, it could feel closer to 40°C. Environment Canada has Issued heat warnings for portions of the GTA where the heat is expected to be most persistent and will reach heat warning criteria.

The hottest temperatures are expected in Deep Southwestern Ontario, the Golden Horseshoe and the Ottawa Valley, where daytime highs around 33-35°C are likely. That said, some shorter-range models are suggesting we could see temperatures overachieve, reaching as high as 36-38°C in parts of the GTA. If that happens, we could be flirting with record-breaking territory!

Friday and Saturday will offer a brief dip, with highs in the upper 20s. But the heat looks set to return by Sunday and Monday, with temperatures back into the low 30s.

Extreme heat can be dangerous, especially for young children, older adults, those with chronic health conditions and people without access to air conditioning. If you or someone you know falls into these categories, try to stay indoors during peak afternoon hours, drink plenty of water and take breaks in cool or shaded areas. Keep an eye on loved ones and neighbours to make sure they’re coping okay, and never leave children or pets in a hot car, even for a few minutes.

This round of heat will also be accompanied by a potentially strong severe weather threat on Thursday afternoon and evening as an intense squall line is expected to sweep through parts of Southern Ontario. We’ll have more details on that soon!

The solar plexus chakra, is the third chakra, located in the upper abdomen, between the navel and the ribcage.

It is associated with personal power, confidence, self-esteem, and the ability to take action and make decisions. When balanced, it allows individuals to feel empowered, confident, and capable of achieving their goals. 💛🌿

Our Chakra Series continue! 😊Here a some of our favourite balancing Solar Plexus Chakra activities 💛

Healing this energy centre is all about honouring and taking care of ourselves, and developing a trust in those gut instincts that are there to guide us in our daily lives. It’s about claiming back our power, and learning to respect this power in others, so we are inspired by the confidence of others and not intimidated when someone is owning their unique abilities and values.

We must work on people pleasing, which gives our power over to others - so learning to say no is important. Boundaries are important. So is a good belly laugh and sunshine on your skin. Meditate on your personal power and use these Solar Plexus Affirmations: “I am confident and strong,” “I trust myself and my abilities” and “I can accomplish anything.”💛 Follow for more Reiki inspiration 🌟😊
