Because a little humour and relatability is always good for our bodies. Did you know adults laugh significantly less than kids? For some reason as we get older we forget how funny things can be. Yesterday my daughter said to me “mom the boys were doing weird things at school- something called armpit farts” I burst out laughing and thought some things don’t change. So go ahead. The best way to start your day is with a high protein breakfast. Fills you up, decreases sugar cravings, and supports your energy for the day.

Start with 3/4 cup- 1 cup of plain greek protein
Add in 1 tbsp chia seeds
Fresh or frozen blueberries 🫐
Sprinkle of cinnamon (helps with blood sugars)

Mix all together and enjoy!

If there is anything I’ve learned along the way when it comes to nutrition, it’s that we don’t get enough protein for what our bodies actually need. I’ve learned to find ways to add additional protein into everything I can, not only for myself but for the kids too.

Here’s your recipe for guilt free French Toast:

1 loaf of thick sliced bread 🍞
1 dozen eggs 🥚
1 1/2 cups milk 🥛
1 1/2 cups plain Greek yogurt (hidden secret no one can taste, yet adds more protein)
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp pure maple syrup
Sprinkle of cinnamon (cinnamon helps with blood sugar balance for everyone)

Whisk all ingredients together in a large bowl and soak bread until egg mixture has absorbed well into bread. Cook on griddle at 350 until golden brown on each side and bread has puffed up.

Serve hot with pure maple syrup 🍁, honey 🍯, or berry compote 🫐🍓. Enjoy!

P.S. this freezes great if you’ve made too much and can pop in the toaster for a quick breakfast later!
