This month, Diamond House was proud to take part in the Pharmacy Service-Learning Showcase at the University of Saskatchewan, connecting with pharmacy students through our volunteer campaign: Go Beyond the Counter 🩺💬

We set up a booth to share what makes life at Diamond House so special — from our commitment to person-centered care, to the moments of joy and connection that happen every day in our home 🧡

Students had the chance to learn how they can get involved, support our residents, and build meaningful skills in relational care, communication, and community service — all while enriching life for older adults through shared presence and purpose.

✨ You can expect to see new pharmacy student volunteers joining us in the coming weeks — especially in the Activities Department — as they learn to serve with heart and go beyond the counter.

We’re so excited to welcome Angie P***n, a local mixed media artist, for a special 5-class art series starting this fall and continuing into the new year. These sessions are all about exploring creativity, connecting with others, and simply enjoying the process — no experience needed!

There’s nothing quite like a wagging tail or a gentle nuzzle to brighten the day 🦴 🌞

On Tuesday, August 26, we celebrated International Dog Day with a very special visit — our Diamond House Dogs were joined by six tiny puppies, bringing all the cuddles, tail wags, and happy chaos you can imagine ✨ 🐾

Residents lit up with joy as they shared space with our furry guests — reminiscing about beloved pets, swapping stories, and soaking in the unconditional love only animals can give.

Animals have a beautiful way of bringing comfort, lowering stress, and opening hearts. For many, these visits spark happy memories of pets they’ve loved, and for others, it’s simply the joy of sharing space with a furry friend.

Here's to little paws, big smiles, and the kind of connection that doesn’t need words 🐶💛

Last month, our Great Room filled with smiles, soft curls, and simple beauty as we celebrated Ladies Day — a sweet afternoon of pampering, laughter, and connection 🪞✨

Residents were treated to curled hair, light makeup, and warm company — a little moment to feel special, refreshed, and radiant from the inside out 🌷

Sometimes, all it takes is a touch of care and a cozy seat in good company to bring out a glow that’s already there 💖

This fall, something beautiful is beginning at Diamond House — and we’re honoured to be part of it.

In partnership with Diamond Heritage Academy, we’ll be welcoming an intergenerational homeschool group into our home 🍎

This unique program will bring a new kind of learning space, built on connection across generations — where curiosity is encouraged, stories are shared, and students and older adults come together in a way that’s truly meaningful.

We can’t wait to witness the stories, laughter, and lessons that unfold.

To celebrate World Senior Citizen Day, we spent the afternoon enjoying the sunshine, sharing stories, and giving a little extra love to our residents’ most-used wheels ✨🦼

While wheelchairs and walkers got a gentle refresh 🫧, residents relaxed on the patio with popcorn 🍿, cool drinks 🥤, and cozy conversation 💬.

It was a small act of care — rooted in the things that matter most to us: safety, comfort, and meaningful connection.

The folks at Cypress House opened their doors to residents of Swift Current last Friday The event featured a barbecue lunch, live music, door prizes, and a silent auction. Consultant Bill Horbach says folks were very excited to come out, and reactions were positive.
