Hearing is vital to communicate with others and experience fulfilling relationships. Hearing loss can influence communication and negatively affect social interactions.

Untreated hearing loss is associated with social isolation and loneliness. However, when individuals prioritize their hearing health, they’re likely to stay connected to others and remain engaged in their daily activities.

How many people do you interact with on daily basis? Think beyond your immediate circle and consider the individuals you may have an encounter with at the coffee shop, the grocery store, the gas station, at the local hockey rink, etc.

It’s important to stay connected and be proactive with your hearing health, to maintain strong connections within your immediate circle and greater community.

If you’ve struggled to communicate with others, it may be time to book your diagnostic audiological assessment to better understand your hearing status.

📋”DO I GET MY RESULTS?”🤔

Absolutely! Our audiologist takes the time to review your diagnostic audiological assessment results and we provide you with a copy the same day.

Warman Hearing Clinic believes in complete transparency of hearing assessment results. We do not “gate keep” your results or charge extra to provide you a copy or send a copy to all members on your healthcare team.

If you’ve ever attended a hearing appointment and have felt “rushed” or the results were not clearly explained, it’s time to consider a second opinion. Audiological assessment results should be explained, all questions should be answered, and there should be a clear plan moving forward.

If you’re ready to feel the Warman Hearing Clinic difference, contact us to schedule an appointment. There is no referral required and we’re always accepting new patients.

🦻🏽HEARING AIDS🦻🏼

Hearing aids have come a long way over the years, as technology keeps improving. Hearing aids come in all shapes, sizes, and colours. The style of the hearing aid (i.e., what it physically looks like) does not determine the investment.

Warman Hearing Clinic offers an array of styles and fits several hearing aid manufacturers, to meet your specific needs. We take into account your hearing loss, specific hearing concerns, and your lifestyle/personal preference. Based on this information, we determine the best hearing aid for YOU! If you haven’t had a recent diagnostic audiological assessment, this is the first step.

Keep in mind, the biggest determining factor to being successful with amplification/technology is choosing your provider!

✨Ensure you’re working with someone following audiologic best practices, or you may not be maximizing the technology you’re wearing.

✨Ensure you have appropriate follow up care, as hearing aids require ongoing support and maintenance.

🛑1ST STOP—AUDIOLOGY!👂🏼

If your child is struggling with speech and language development, make sure you have a diagnostic audiological assessment completed first.

It’s important to visit an audiologist to ensure hearing is within normal limits, prior to starting therapy. In some cases, children will start speech and language therapy and make minimal progress. However, there may be fluid behind the eardrum or wax present making it challenging to hear the speech sounds (ie; imagine hearing under water, the speech sounds would be muffled). It’s important to rule out anything that may hinder progress!

Hearing loss (even if temporary) not only impacts speech and language development, but also learning and reading skills. Therefore, it’s important to see an Audiologist!

We’re so grateful to work closely with Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in our province and appreciate when Audiology is recommended as the first stop. Collaborative care ensures best outcomes for our patients!

EDUCATION👂🏼🎓

❓”Do you have an Audiologist on staff?”

🅰️ “Of course, we do!”

When considering your hearing care provider, it’s important to ask about the education of the clinician on staff!

Our Audiologist, Kaelyn Ferguson, completed her Doctorate of Audiology from ATSU. She considers herself a life-long learner and felt the desire to obtain the highest clinical degree in the field, to better serve her patients at Warman Hearing Clinic.

When searching for your hearing care provider, ask about the education and experience of the person you’ll be seeing. It’s important to keep in mind, some insurance providers require an Audiologist for reimbursement of services/devices!

Kaelyn loves to chat about her educational experiences, so feel free to ask her more at your next appointment! Kaelyn is also a part-time Adjunct Assistant Professor, as she loves being involved with academia.
