FERALIA,
This is a nine day festival (Feb 13-21)
It is a ancient Roman Pagan tradition which falls on Feb 21. It marked the end of Parentela, honoring the dead ancestors. This was a period for visiting graves and remembering the dead, known as Feralia.
*This festival marks the beginning of Spring
*Ostara the Spring Equinox is upcoming to focus on the transition from Winter to Spring.
*This month is dedicated to purification and honoring your ancestors.

MALENITSA
Also known as "The Butter Lady"
This is a Eastern Slavic holiday celebrated in Ukraine, Belarus, and in Russia. This holiday occurs during the last week before Great Lent (Feb16-22) it is marked by various traditions.
The celebrations include:
*Lots of traditional foods like pancakes, cheesecake, and crepes. It is butter week. These are enjoyed by symbolizing the Sun.
*Lots of festivities like Tobogganing, sleigh rides, skating, and bon fires. This is a great time for community gatherings to enjoy the warmth of spring.
*This is a special time for forgiveness, and to allow for reconciliation in all types of relationships.
*This is a wonderful time enjoying historical roots dating back to the 2nd century, and is associated with Pagan traditions of Spring renewal.
*Its a great time to blend Pagan customs with Christian traditions, which offer a unique opportunity to indulge before the fasting of Lent.

I was so looking forward to meditation tomorrow night, but thought instead of posting and then needing to cancel, I just wanted to put it out there that there Will NOT be meditation this Wed night due to the potential bad weather arriving. I want everyone to be safe and sound. See you all in 2 weeks. Stay safe and healthy, and I will miss you all
