Key strategies include eating more vegetables, fruits, and whole grains, reducing saturated fats and sodium, and limiting caffeine and alcohol to minimize hot flashes.
Key Nutritional Components for Menopause
* Calcium & Vitamin D: Vital for bone health to combat bone loss. Sources include dairy (milk, yogurt, cheese), fortified foods, tofu, salmon, and leafy greens.
* Protein: Essential for maintaining muscle mass, which decreases during this stage. Spread protein intake across meals (e.g., legumes, fish, poultry, beans).
