🏴‍☠️ Ahoy, mateys! On Talk Like a Pirate Day, we’re celebrating the trickiest sound of all—the mighty R.

From “boogers” turning into “burgers” to “walks” solidifying into “rocks,” R can be sneaky. That’s why we use a whole treasure chest of tools - individualized therapy, creative practice, and even ultrasound visual biofeedback - to help kids strike R-gold.

We’re no magicians, but with practice and the right tools, every child can find their strongest “Arrrrr”! ⚓

🎒 Back-to-school means new routines, busy mornings, and sometimes… big feelings.

Routines give kids structure. Flexibility helps them cope when things don’t go as planned. Both skills matter for communication and confidence! 💬💪

Making Your Individual Education Plan (IEP) Work is your chance to dive deep into your child's IEP. Learn how to review and understand your child's IEP, identify what's working and not working, and explore the process of making it more effective.

What to Bring:
-A physical copy of your child's IEP
-A physical copy of your child's assessment (usually has useful recommendations)

How to Register:
Email info@wrfn.info to secure your spot. In your email, please share:

1. Your familiarity with IEPs (Are you new to IEPs, have you attended before, or do you have extensive experience?)
2. Would you be willing to share your child’s IEP?
3. Any questions you would like answered at the workshop.

🥣 Alphabet Soup: Back-to-School Edition 🎒

When the school year starts, you might hear a lot of letters and wonder what they all mean. Don’t worry - we’re here to help decode the school lingo!

Here are a few acronyms you might come across in school meetings and reports:
📝 IEP – Individualized Education Plan
📚 SERT – Special Education Resource Teacher
🤝 EA – Educational Assistant
💻 SEA – Specialized Equipment Allocation
📑 IPRC – Identification, Placement and Review Committee

Each one plays a role in making sure students get the right support, tools, and opportunities for success.
