Ok this one may seem simple, but asking for help when your in the thick of postpartum is not as easy as it sounds.

Even the act of writing everything down can be a huge eye opener for you and your partner.

So do yourself a HUGE favour and put this little plan into action before baby arrives. 🥰

1. Write down everything you do in a week ( tasks, chores, caring for other children and pets etc)

2. Write down the name of a loved one who can do this task for you for the first two weeks PP (at least)

3. Ask these people on your list. They will be so happy to help!

4. Enjoy the benefits of setting yourself up for a better PP period 🙌🏼

If you’ve ever thought: “five days of school is too much, but homeschooling isn’t it either”… same.

Enter: Freedom Fridays ✌️

Each year I play around with our school rhythm until it feels right for us.

I’m so grateful we can do this, I know it’s not possible for everyone. But every time I mention it, parents are surprised and curious to hear how it works.

This year it looks like Friday meetups with a .compass.studio and her kiddos, exploring and learning, out in the real world together.

And honestly? It feels so right. 🌲

After the whirlwind of back-to-school week, I finally looked back at our last week of summer.

We took the trailer out just before fall routines hit, and it was so needed.

But here’s the truth, it wasn’t all sunshine and campfires. Parenting doesn’t suddenly get easy just because you’re “on vacation.”
If anything, new environments can make it harder.

But I’m still grateful.
For the moments of connection, for the memories, and the chance to step away and remember what matters most.

A reminder for all of us: the highlights don’t erase the hard, but the hard doesn’t erase the good either.

For so many of my clients, it’s not the pain they fear, it’s the feeling of losing control. Of not being heard. Of having decisions made for them during labour or of being swept up in the intensity.

Research shows this is one of the top fears pregnant people experience!

But there are ways to work through this fear.Not by ignoring it or pretending it’s not real.

But by understanding what the root of the fear is and learning tools to overcome them.

It’s important to show your brain that you have a plan for this fear. That you can overcome this fear AND that there is another way through.

It’s not about controlling every outcome.
It’s about knowing you’ll stay anchored and trusting in yourself no matter what unfolds.
