This summer, Bloom is excited to host its first-ever therapy camp, Voices Like Me, designed for femme-identifying youth ages 10–12 who are looking to build new, authentic, and lasting friendships. This half-day camp (9:00 AM–12:30 PM), running July 6–10, 2026, will offer healing and affirming social experiences where youth connect with others while embracing their unique traits, interests, and personalities. Through creative art activities, outdoor exploration, and guided open conversations, campers will have meaningful opportunities to connect with peers who appreciate them just as they are. Participants will leave with new friendships they can continue beyond camp, greater self-confidence, and increased self-esteem from feeling seen and valued as they are. Along the way, they will also build practical social skills such as initiating conversations, making small talk, coordinating plans, and navigating social discomfort with growing confidence and resilience.

This Pink Shirt Day, Bloom: Child & Family Therapy stands alongside families across Canada in choosing kindness, courage, and safety. πŸ’—

Parents play a powerful role in shaping how their children see themselves and others. Today is a reminder that small conversations at home about empathy, respect, making helpful choices, and standing up for what’s right can make a lasting difference. Together, we can help the children in our community feel safe, valued, and confident to be themselves authentically and unapologetically.

At Bloom, we are committed to supporting children and families in building resilience, fostering emotional awareness, and creating communities where every child belongs.

We look forward to welcoming parents and caregivers of autistic children and youth to the Autism Caregivers Collective starting this friday.

The facilitators, Lindsay Crickmay (MSW, RSW) and Grace Ohrling (MSW Intern) recognize that caregivers of autistic children and youth can feel misunderstood, alone, and isolated on your parenting journey. It can feel overwhelming knowing that society has a narrow idea of what success looks like and it can be hard to help your child thrive in a world not designed for them.

Caregivers of ALL children with Autism are welcome- no matter how high or low their support needs are, to attend as many sessions as you would like with afternoon and evening sessions being held on the first Friday of each month. There is no pressure to commit to a series of sessions. We created this space for you, to celebrate wins, losses, share resources and stories, have some laughs, and build a community together.

We're huge book fans at Bloom πŸ“š our collection of children's books and parenting books is always getting bigger. Therapists use books in sessions to provide children with relatable characters and situations. Books provide a safe, externalized, and indirect way for kids to explore their challenges. By providing a relatable story, therapist use books to help children process their challenges, develop motivation and optimism to work towards their goals, and increase their confidence to do so.
