Meet Kim! Our new weekday Client Care Coordinator!! We are so happy to have her as part of our team!

Kim (She/Her) was born and raised in Kitchener but her family comes from Newfoundland. She is a mom with 3 incredible adult kids and 2 funny and loveable cats. Kim has spent her career supporting people experiencing homelessness in many different roles. For the past 5 years her focus has been supporting First Nations, Inuit and Metis individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness and/or mental health and addictions struggles. She also has experience as an administrative assistant in counselling and primary care settings. Kim is very passionate about providing kind, empathic, non judgemental, person centered care to clients. Outside of work Kim loves to spend time with her kids and cats, cheering on her niece at the baseball field, listening to music, playing video games and watching hockey and baseball.

🧠 Older kids still need vestibular play — and often, they’re not getting enough.

The school day is long and movement is limited. Kids who seem fidgety or distracted may actually need more vestibular input.

🚸 You can support them by:
Making time for movement before school or homework
Encouraging outdoor play
Using vestibular input as a calming tool (swinging or rocking before bed!)

Movement isn’t just a break — it’s brain fuel.

Plus mom life meant I was away Wednesday for kids appointments, so this is what we’ve got!

Part 2 of our Vestibular Series! 👶 Vestibular input should start from day one.
Babies are wired to move — and that movement is doing a lot of important work in the brain.

Some ways infants get vestibular input:
✨ Rocking, swaying, bouncing
✨ Being carried or worn while you move
✨ Playing on therapy balls or swings (with support)
✨ Rolling during tummy time transitions

All of these help babies understand where they are in space, build head control, and lay the groundwork for later gross motor skills. Without it babies can avoid movement, delaying primitive reflex integration and gross motor skill development.

Stay tuned for Part 3: What vestibular play looks like for older kids, and how to support it.
