Step into a day in the life of a School-Based Rehab Services (SBRS) Speech-Language Pathologist at KidsAbility!

From setting up engaging therapy tools and apps, to supporting students with their speech sounds, fluency, voice/resonance, and swallowing, our SLPs bring learning to life in every session.

Throughout the day, they prepare individualized activities, from sound cards and multi‑syllabic word games to hands‑on tools like foam dice and mini hockey games

SLPs make each session fun, motivating, and meaningful. They also use assessment tools such as the GFTA and early motor speech checklists to understand each child’s unique strengths and needs.

SLPs collaborate closely with Communicative Disorders Assistants (CDAs) to review caseloads, plan treatment, and ensure families receive written visit notes with strategies to practice at home. Some days our SLPs stay at the same school, while other days mean travelling between multiple schools.

Thank you for joining us behind the scenes as we support children in reaching their communication goals - one school visit at a time.

At KidsAbility, creativity doesn’t just spark… it takes flight at KidsAbility Rocket Discovery Centre! 🚀

Our innovation team is using 3D printing to turn imaginative ideas into real, functional tools that make learning and play more accessible for the children and youth we serve.

With our on-site 3D printer, we’re able to design custom assistive device, like pencil grips that help young writers strengthen their fine motor skills and build confidence, and tactile matching games that create meaningful, hands‑on experiences for individuals with vision loss.

Every item we print is crafted with purpose, boosting independence, supporting developmental growth, and making our programs more inclusive.
