their generosity in offering their space for this event.

We are grateful to collaborate once again with Wieslawa Hyzyk to bring the Introduction to Mindfulness workshops back to the studio. Wieslawa is graciously offering this one-hour class for free, with the hope that the mindfulness practice can provide new tools to help us navigate the challenging year that we are all having.
We will be promoting safe physical distancing and mask protocols for everyone visiting the studio, which means that seating will be limited. If you are interested in sharing an hour of peaceful awareness, then we encourage you to register early to avoid disappointment.

Imagine a big, solid majestic mountain. This mountain has sunshine and clear skies around it much of the time in the summer, it may be buffeted by storms, strong winds snow or hail in the winter, in spring there may be abundant life, colour, and vibrancy all around it and in the fall the colours may fade and it may be still and calm. As each season comes and goes the mountain remains steady - allowing all of the weather and seasons to come and go. Welcoming everything.

This is a good analogy for mindfulness. We allow all the mind states and moods to come and go in a steady welcoming awareness, viewing all mind states a little like internal weather. There’s no right and wrong weather and there's no right or wrong way to feel. There's just feelings and states all coming and going, constantly changing.

So see if you can welcome all the mind states, all the emotions, and every mood into your meditation practice and your life today.

Lately, one of my favorite things to do is simply sit in a chair in the morning sun, be still and just witness the incredible display of nature all around me...and let the miracle and the mystery and the beauty of it sink into my bones.

Nature continues to teach me silent sermons.

“Look at a tree, a flower, a plant. Let your awareness rest upon it. How still they are, how deeply rooted in Being. Allow nature to teach you stillness.”
