1. A person who has overcome all rivals in competition, earning the title of winner.
2. A person who fights for or defends a cause, belief, or someone else.

A Champion isn’t just someone who wins in competition. A Champion fights for something bigger than themselves. They push through adversity, rise after every fall, and stand for a cause that truly matters.

For the past 3 months, the Champions for Charity group has been putting in the work at The Armoury, pushing their limits and embracing the grind. The energy has been electric, and their effort undeniable.

On April 4th, they’ll step into the ring to test their skills against one another. But the most important fight isn’t against their opponent—it’s for McMaster Children’s Hospital. Every round, every punch, and every ounce of effort goes towards life-saving care, cutting-edge research, and essential resources for children and families facing serious medical challenges.

And with over $600,000 raised, their dedication will provide hope, healing, and life-changing support to those who need it most.

Quite literally, this group of individuals defines what it means to be a Champion.

What is RMR?
RMR is the number of calories your body burns per day to sustain essential bodily functions while at rest. It is a significant component of total daily energy expenditure (TDEE), which also includes calories burned through physical activity and digestion.

Why Test RMR?
- Weight Management: Understanding your RMR can help tailor dietary and exercise plans for weight loss, maintenance, or gain.
- Health Assessment: It provides insights into metabolic health and can detect abnormal metabolic rates that might indicate health issues.

How is RMR Tested?
1. Indirect Calorimetry:
- The most accurate method.
- Measures oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production using a metabolic cart.
- Requires fasting and resting before the test.
- Conducted in a controlled environment (usually a medical facility).

2. Predictive Equations:
- Uses formulas like the Harris-Benedict equation, Mifflin-St Jeor equation, or Katch-McArdle formula.
- Less accurate than indirect calorimetry.
- Takes into account factors like age, s*x, weight, and height.
