A big shout out to Mayor Dave Jaworsky, of The City of Waterloo, for taking the time to visit Steri-Ontario! We love to share what Steri-Ontario is doing to create awareness of Infection Control through Medical Device Reprocessing. We also discussed the impact of single use plastics on the environment. Proper sterilization of reusable instruments prevents infection. Reusable instruments help to protect our environment. Mayor Jaworsky gets it! And so should every health care facility providing patient care. Protect your patients and help save the environment. It really is a basic solution to an enormous problem. Discuss with your health care provider. Do they use disposable instruments? Are reusable instruments sterilized properly? It's your health. It's your environment. It's your business.
