A healthy heart powers a vibrant life—take care of yours.

Heart disease is the #1 cause of death worldwide, but the good news? It’s preventable

Here are 5 tips from Dr. Laura Hoffmann, ND to improve heart health:

♥Follow a heart-healthy diet: Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Reduce your intake of sodium, saturated fats, and processed foods. Consider incorporating olive oil into your meals and limiting red meat and processed meats.

♥Stay active: Aim for 30 minutes of moderate exercise, such as walking, swimming, or cycling, 5 days a week. Even small amounts of physical activity can improve your heart health.

♥Monitor your blood pressure: Regularly check your blood pressure at home using a reliable monitor, aiming to measure it at least once a week. Attend all recommended appointments with your healthcare provider for in-office blood pressure checks.

♥Manage stress: Practice relaxation techniques like deep breathing, meditation, or yoga to help manage stress, as high levels of stress can contribute to heart problems.
