Our annual Christmas Bazaar & Dinner was a huge success yesterday!

Residents, families and friends enjoyed lots of great food and did some very important Christmas shopping, all while supporting our residents! Thank you so much to everyone who came out yesterday or supported us in any way, it was a fun day with lots of Christmas cheer!

Our annual Christmas kindness trees have started up again here at Parkwood! These trees allow the Parkwood community to come together to buy specific, personalized gifts for each resident that they would appreciate!

You are welcome to take a tag (or as many as you'd like) off the tree by the entrance in Retirement or LTC, buy the corresponding gift and bring it to the reception desk or recreation office by Dec 10th if you'd like to join in!

Only 1 week until our big Christmas Bazaar!!

Come on out to the Retirement Suites Recreation room on Thursday, November 27th from 10am-5pm to 'shop 'til you drop'! There will be lots of yummy baking, neat crafts & gifts, a penny sale, hot chocolate & more! Proceeds go towards our resident special events!

We're ready to kick off the Christmas season with some festive fun! See you there!

Halloween at Parkwood has been quite the treat!

Residents and staff dressed up in creative costumes, danced & shared laughs, and filled the home with festive spirit. You’re never too old for a little Halloween fun!🎃

⚾ Go Jays Go! ⚾

Staff and furry friends of Parkwood proudly wore their Blue Jays jerseys, gear or blue and white to show their team spirit! Our home came together to celebrate Canada’s team with smiles, cheers, and true Blue Jays pride. 💙

Fall fun at Snyder's Family Farm!

Our residents braved the cool autumn weather (and a bit of rain) and had lots of fun on a hayride, exploring the farm and scouting out the best pumpkin!

Parkwood had a fantastic Fall Fair! Games, a petting zoo and a tasty barbeque to wrap the day up. A big thank you to the Good Farm, for their donation of pumpkins, corn stalks and bails of straw. It really added to this annual event.

In September the Rider's for the CMC Ride for Dementia stopped in to visit the residents at Parkwood. We hope to see you all again next year!

This year, we welcomed over 80 participants to our annual Walk the Kindness Way event, it was the largest group yet! Walkers journeyed along the Walter Bean/Grand River trails, some covering 10 km, others the full day, and a few even braving the entire 42 km trek. Two residents from Fairview joined in, walking alongside participants and reminding us what this event is truly all about: people, community, and kindness in action.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we raised an outstanding $44,470.50 in support of our Healing Garden projects. These funds will help bring a brand-new Healing Garden to Parkwood and complete the furnishings at Fairview’s garden, which opened earlier this year. These spaces will be sanctuaries of peace and connection for residents, families, and friends.

Every step, every cheer, and every donation has become part of this story. Together, we are rooting kindness and building places of healing that will serve our communities for years to come.

Thank you to everyone who walked, donated, volunteered, and supported this year’s event, we couldn’t have done it without you! We can’t wait to share the progress of the Healing Gardens and see you back on the trails in 2026.
