What does a good fitting/supportive pair of shoes look like? Well, here’s our suggestions….
1. The shoes should fit well and be comfortable when you FIRST try them on. Your feet will naturally “wear” into your shoes BUT you should NOT have to break them in for them to be comfortable.
2. Shoes with a wide sole that are difficult to bend, therefore supportive, aid the integrity of the shoe.
3. The back heel area should be hard/tough as well. This gives your foot support with each step.
4. Give your toes room! Your toes shouldn’t feel tight in the front of the shoe. We’d recommend a thumb width between the end of your big toe and the shoe.
5. Your “regular” shoe size is general. Shoe sizes vary brand to brand. Make sure you find a shoe that fits true to YOU!
We recommend reliable shoe brands such as Asics, Propét, Biotime, Portofino, and Walk Feet Pro.
You can also get your feet sized properly at our Foot Clinic or in a reliable shoe store!
