Please contact us to set up a virtual appointment at mates@wusa.ca or at wusa.ca/peersupport! MATES (Mentor Assistance Through Education and Support) is a one-to-one student peer support program offered by the Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association in consultation with Campus Wellness. MATES provides support to students who are hoping to build social skills, or are experiencing personal or aca
demic concerns or low-level mental health and wellness difficulties. MATES volunteers are also well-trained and knowledgeable about various resources on and off campus and can assist students through the navigation of those resources. MATES volunteers are required to go through an interview and selection process and extensive training. Services are available to students from all faculties. Students can access our services whether by referral, personally setting up an appointment, or reaching out to MATES during our drop-in hours. Please note MATES is currently offering Microsoft Teams-based, and Live chat appointments, though both drop-in and booked appointments. Please contact us at mates@wusa.ca to book a Microsoft Teams or Live Chat appointment, or visit us at www.wusa.ca/mates. Please visit https://bit.ly/38RnvVO to begin a Live Chat session.
