I never want to apologize for my timeline.

For the life I lived in my twenties and all the adventures I had. For the many years of education I endured, and the career I curated. For finding my husband in my thirties and spending time “just us”.

It’s amazing how even comments of joy, like, “Finally” (followed by, congratulations) stuck with me. Like there was some expectation that I was FINALLY meeting.

I’m grateful for my healthcare team who treat each pregnancy as highly individualized, and know that maternal age IS one factor, but is not the barometer that we set all expectations by.

What health consistency looked like this week at 5 weeks postpartum🌟 I missed 4/14 doses… Sharing, because I’m not perfect.

I miss my supplements doses too, but since getting these pill organizers I have been more consistent with the habit. It’s about sticking to the 75-80% vs 100% (then 0%)

I’m taking vitamins, minerals, cod liver oil and probiotics. This is working for me. Post partum + lactation nutrient depletion is a HUGE factor in maternal mental health and energy. I am also deeply focusing on my nutrition, sleep and protecting my boundaries, and also taking a mitt full of pills …and I’m feeling good 😊💕✨🙏🦋

IG: When your fresh lil sweetie babe makes her first appearance into your biz baby… 🤩✨

In reality: we were here last week because of an IT problem (our reception phone and moneris terminal went down) that my super resourceful team couldn’t resolve at end of day. Talking phone calls and payments—kind of a big deal. Luckily my husband is my hero/a jack-of-all trades + tech whiz, so we didn’t have to call in an IT company🥴💸

This is one of the realities of a “maternity leave” when you own a brick and mortar business. You still have some serious skin in the game… you call on your community and show up as you are. Clear boundaries. No bu****it. It’s a strength in all the softness of postpartum and mothering.

This I am doing to support myself in my final month of pregnancy!

1. Spending time with my little guy. It’s been challenging to have less rest this pregnancy, with a busy preschooler.

2. Staying active— morning walks are my main squeeze right now, as I’ve had to significantly adjust my workout routine under the guidance of my team.

3. Prioritizing quality time with my husband. We know our world is about to have a big shift, so this is key for us!

4. High protein breakfasts for better mood, energy and blood sugar balance. Eggs are a great source of choline—an essential nutrient for pregnant mamas and growing babies!

5. Regular (weekly or more) chiropractic appointments with Dr Isabel. She’s been doing prenatal maneuvers with me to keep pelvis open, loose and as comfortable as possible!

6. Cooling foods for acid reflux support. This one wasn’t intuitive, because with cool seasons I always warm up my nutrition but that was significantly aggravating my reflux. Instead I’ve learned about Ayurvedic cooling pitta foods, and DANG! Game changer!

7. Massage therapy monthly or bi weekly depending on what my nervous system and my body needs. These sessions are soooo good!

Not featured: time with my besties, connecting with other mamas, taking my supplements, therapy, birth affirmations, epsom salt baths, and nesting and organizing in my home space.

This is especially common in women—and it can make you feel totally wiped.

⚡️Increasing your energy is one of my top priorities!

When you have your energy, you can stick to your healthy routines, with more consistency...
🥗It is easier to make the homemade meal -- when you have energy.
💪It is easier to get out for a walk or a workout -- when you have more energy.
🫶It's just simply easier to show up as your truest, best self -- when your energy spot on. 🎯

Feeling exhausted even after 8 hours of sleep? You're not lazy—and you're not alone.

Low energy can be a signal that something is off in the body. Listen to those cues! Energy dips often have root causes like: blood sugar crashes, hidden nutrient deficiencies, or dehydration.

The most common food reactions that I see in my IBS patients are:
1. FODMAP foods
2. Intolerances
3. Food sensitivities

IBS is a disorder of gut brain interaction, which means that it's more about a disrupted gut-brain connection, than it is about food reactions. It's tricky though, because the symptoms often occur after eating, so it is common to blame foods fault for all the discomfort, including:
• Bloating 🎈
• Constipation 🚽
• Diarrhea 💨
• Abdominal pain 😖

There are real options (not just crazy restrictive diets) to help get your bloating, discomfort, and bowel troubles under control! Let's talk if you're struggling! 💕

3 things you didn't know about your hormones & energy - that could change your lifeeee!

1️⃣ Your stress hormone is stealing your energy.
Cortisol is meant to help you wake up + focus—but when it’s constantly high or very low (hello burnout), it zaps your energy and messes with your sleep-wake cycle. Chronic stress = chronic fatigue.

2️⃣ Blood sugar crashes aren’t just about carbs.
Skipping meals or relying on coffee can send your blood sugar & insulin hormone on a rollercoaster, triggering energy dips, anxiety, and cravings. Balanced meals = stable energy.

3️⃣ Your thyroid is the "thermostat" of your metabolism.
If your thyroid hormones are off—even slightly—you can feel off, exhausted, foggy, and cold, even if your labs are “normal.” This is one of the most overlooked causes of fatigue in women.

💡 Your body isn’t broken. You’re not lazy. Your hormones are trying to tell you something!

💫My March recap!💫

March was a month of resting, working, nourishing, having fun, and filling up our cup!

If I look tired it’s because I was. February really took it out of me. March was about recovery, and planting seeds of expansion✨🌊💕

👌🏼What’s working: more weight training and walking, more leafy greens, more sleep optimization, more water, and saying NO if it’s not a full body YES.

👋🏼What’s not working: over scheduling, sugar/snacking after dinner, too little exercise, commitments that aren’t aligned.

What is something you’re letting go of as we move further into spring??🌷🌱💫
