Keeping your joints mobile, your muscles relaxed… and secretly growing a tiny human 😅💛

My husband and I are so excited to share that we’re expecting a baby — due April 2026!

I’ll continue treating as usual for now, but wanted to give everyone a heads-up that I plan to take roughly three months off once baby arrives, followed by a gradual return to work.

Of course, timing can shift (babies tend to have their own schedules 😉), but I’ll keep everyone updated closer to spring.

As my body changes, I truly appreciate your patience and understanding if there are times I’m not feeling my best or need to adjust my schedule for medical appointments or rest — I promise it’s all in service of keeping both me and baby healthy 💛

It’s officially that time of year when everyone remembers their benefits are about to renew, the weather gets chillier, and holiday stress starts to creep in — which means things get very busy around here!

As of right now, I’m fully booked for October.
My next opening is November 13th, and my next evening appointment isn’t until December 18th.

I do keep a few evening spots set aside for my regulars, but they’re also going quickly — so if you’d like to grab one, please reach out soon!

One thing you should know about me: I deeply respect my days off. It’s not always easy when you’re a self-employed, one-woman show, but I’ve learned that stepping back with friends, family, and for myself helps me recharge, so I can step back into work at my very best for you 💆‍♀️✨

That means I don’t check Instagram, Facebook, work emails, or work phone calls on my weekends (Saturday afternoon, Sundays & Mondays) — and the same goes for vacation time 🧘‍♀️

With that said, I’ll be away from Thursday, August 21 – Sunday, August 24 celebrating my best friend’s bachelorette in Collingwood 🥂💃 I’ll catch up on all messages when I’m back on Monday.

💪 Meet the Masseter: The Powerhouse of the Jaw

The masseter is one of the strongest muscles in your entire body by weight! You can feel it just in front of your ears—clench your jaw and you’ll notice it pop.

What does it do?
This thick, rectangular muscle connects your cheekbone to your lower jaw (mandible) and is responsible for elevating the jaw—aka, closing your mouth and chewing.

Why does it matter for TMJD?
The masseter is often a key culprit in jaw pain, tightness, and dysfunction. Overuse from clenching, grinding, or high stress can cause it to become tense or develop trigger points that refer pain to the jaw, teeth, or head.

😬 Cool fact: The masseter can exert over 200 pounds of pressure when you bite down! No wonder it gets sore with chronic clenching or grinding—especially at night. If you wake up with jaw tension, headaches, or aching teeth, your masseter might be screaming for help.

Just a little love note from your local RMT 💛

I want to take a moment to thank you all—my clients, supporters, friends—for your ongoing patience, kindness, and understanding. This business is a one-woman show, and while it’s deeply fulfilling, it can also be a lot to juggle.

When you come in for a massage, it may seem like I just show up and treat—but behind the scenes, I’m doing a little bit of everything. Here’s a peek at what that really looks like:

👐 Massage Therapist – Creating individualized treatment plans, treating muscle tension and injuries, applying deep pressure, stretching, scraping, cupping, and helping you move better.

📞 Receptionist – Responding to text messages, emails, social media DMs, answering calls (when I can!), booking appointments, and managing last-minute changes and cancellations.

📱 Social Media Manager – Designing posts, writing captions, staying visible, and trying to educate and entertain all at once.

🧼 Cleaner – Disinfecting between every client, wiping down every surface, keeping the space feeling fresh and cozy.

🧺 Laundry Crew – Washing, drying, folding, and prepping clean linens—every single day.

💻 Admin & Bookkeeper – Tracking payments, organizing receipts, updating records, submitting forms, and sorting out the fun world of taxes.

📦 Inventory Manager – Restocking oils, disinfectants, cups, MediStik, and all the little things you don’t see that keep the clinic running smoothly.

📚 Continuing Education Student – Always learning new techniques, attending workshops, and staying up to date with best practices so I can give you my best.

✨ Interior Decorator (kind of) – Making sure the space is warm, welcoming, and just the right vibe for you to feel safe and relaxed.

It’s a lot—but it’s also worth it. Because I love what I do. And I couldn’t do it without your support, your flexibility, and your grace when things get a little behind.

We’re a vibrant space in the heart of Watford, offering physiotherapy, massage therapy, and yoga, set inside a beautiful heritage building with exposed interior brick, natural light, and all the cozy, calming vibes. The clinic includes a beautiful, bright foyer and waiting area, two private treatment offices, a well-equipped fitness studio/gym, and an inviting yoga space that’s perfect for group or private classes.
