Week #2 of our deep reset series The Health Retreat was wonderful ….
Comfy blankets and bolsters, candles and soft music….it was a slow and soft return to ourselves ✨
Yoga Nidra for SleepYoga Nidra, or “yogic sleep,” is a guided meditation technique practiced lying down (savasana) that induces deep relaxation while maintaining conscious awareness. Often called non-sleep deep rest, it soothes the nervous system, reduces stress, and boosts emotional regulation by guiding students through body scans and breath awareness.
Key Aspects of Yoga Nidra
The State of Being: It operates in the hypnagogic state—the threshold between waking and sleeping—allowing for profound mental and physical restoration.
Structure: Sessions typically last 60 minutes, led by an instructor who guides attention to different body parts to release tension.
Intention (Sankalpa): A positive, personal intention is often set at the beginning and end of the session to foster mental focus and transformation.
Accessibility: It requires no experience or physical flexibility, making it suitable for all practitioners, often using props like pillows or blankets for comfort.
Benefits
Deep Relaxation: Reduces anxiety, stress, and tension in the body and mind.
Improved Sleep: Helps in falling asleep more easily and improves overall sleep quality.
Emotional Processing: Provides a safe space to process and release long-held emotions.
Vagal Tone: Activates the parasympathetic nervous system, increasing resilience to stress.
Stay tuned for our next 4 week session. 🫶♥️
