In response to a question asking why their partner gets as drunk on just a few beers as they did previously, drinking heavy spirits and larger quantities.

There are many factors. The body is primed from a routine, anticipating its arrival and will have a tendency to bring out past behaviours when more alcohol is consumed. Further, the body may need time to adjust to the expectation of having alcohol in its system; it will take some time for the body to re-balance and self-regulate. The addict part of the brain quickly takes control of associated feelings and brings about past mannerisms. It is normally not because their tolerance has dropped so significantly in a short amount of time and by switching to a different drink. Tolerance drops over time with little to no alcohol in the body and the body has had a chance to fully rebalance and the expectation alcohol is no longer there.

It could also be related to the basic wear and tear on the body and a simple change in drink composition was enough opporunity for the bottom to complain as it no longer has the resilience to switch gears like it used. If you drinking vodka day in and day out the bottom becomes conditioned to its role to remove specific contaminants, changing mid-high gear does not allow the bottom time to recalibrate and therefore, more alcohol and contaminants are not properly processed.

All that being said, everyone is different, and even a more scientific or more reasoned explanation will not dull the impact that switching to beer did not have its intended result. Then abstinence may be your friend indeed.

Finally, it is often the case that the person switching to beer has an ulterior motive. Drinking 'only' beer would allow them to account for the smell of alcohol on their breath and, therefore, afford the opportunity to take a shot of the hidden bottle every once in a while.

For everyone's peace of mind, a simple breath analyzer - BAC test would tell you the amount of alcohol in the bloodstream and will add some transparency to the situation. s often the case that the person switching to beer has an ulterior motive. Drinking 'only' beer would allow them to account for the smell of alcohol on their breath, which is simply a cover for the bottle hidden somewhere in the house. For everyone's peace of mind, a simple breath analyzer - BAC test would tell you the amount of alcohol in the bloodstream and will add some transparency to the situation. they could account, have to question whether they are genuinely only drinking beer, or are they drinking beer so that they will have alcohol on their breath and therefore can safely drink their spirit of choice without getting caught.

The situation with substance follow the same principals, switching to a seemingly less harmful alternative often creates a host of new problems. Drugs, like alcohol target the reward pathway or the peace of less resistance to making it easier to make a bad choice and not reason things through to their end state. In many situations, the body stacks certain chemicals anticipating the drug(s) in its system and will have the necessary to bring about the ultimate effect. They usually alter the behaviour and levels of neurotransmitters to improve the reward pathways to improve the result.

Neurotransmitters primarily Gaba (Aninobuteric acid), adrenaline (epinephrine), Serotonin (SSRI), Dopamine (neuromodulatory), Glutamate and Peptides. The adjustments of the neurotransmitters tell the body how to behave, and different drugs alter their behaviour and interactions to achieve the desired outcome. These often deplete certain nutrients and chemical drivers them over time. Essential nutrients must be restored dramatically beginning with detox and in the months forward with supplements and vitamins to ensure the building blocks are there for the body to repair itsefl. through detox and in the forward months for the brain to rewire itself. Because the brain has made pathways for immediate satisfaction, guiding thoughts and instinct away from the pre-frontal lobe and to the mid-brain. This could be an exhaustive list that have different levels at different times in your recovery. But someone with an alcohol dependency, B1, or B100, potassium, vitamin C, with some interleaving of Iron and magnesium to get the hemoglobin delivering more oxygen to the body oxygen out and strength up.

Hopefully, this was helpful. Please do not detox yourself, it could be considerably dangerous and most definitely uncomfortable. Ensure it is supervised and with medical advice and oversight.
