💡 Understanding the Scoring in Your Breast Thermography Report

If you’ve ever looked at your breast thermography report and wondered what the scores mean, you’re not alone. We’re here to help make it feel a little clearer — and a little less overwhelming.

Thermography uses a standardized scoring system based on 32 thermobiological signs to observe heat patterns and vascular (blood vessel) activity in the breasts. It helps identify patterns of change that may suggest increased risk and guide next steps for care.

This system, known as the Thermobiological Risk Scale (Marseille System), ranges from TH1 to TH5:

🔹 TH1–TH2: Low risk
These findings are "within normal limits" and indicate stable patterns at the time of imaging. Low risk doesn’t mean “nothing could ever develop,” but it does mean there are no significant thermobiological concerns right now. Regular monitoring helps keep you informed and confident over time.

🔹 TH3: Medium risk
This score suggests something to pay attention to, though it is not considered high risk. There may or may not be an underlying issue, and additional imaging — often a structural test such as ultrasound — is commonly recommended to gain more clarity and peace of mind.

🔹 TH4–TH5: High risk
These results show more significant changes and signal the importance of timely follow-up testing to better understand what’s happening.

✨ The key takeaway: Thermography is about awareness, not alarm. Your score isn’t fixed— it offers valuable insight to help you make informed, proactive choices for your breast health. Your breast health is very much within your control.

After your first thermography appointment, a phone consultation is available to help you understand your report and discuss next steps.
Additional phone support is available for follow-up appointments if needed. 💙

UPDATE from the armchair: Monday, February 2

First day since December 27 that I’ve been out by myself. Quiet and reflective.

Things we take for granted:

-driving; driving by yourself
-sunshine; blue skies
-driving by yourself on a sunny day with blue skies
-gas in the tank
-putting on your underwear and pants (yes I said it 🤪)
-independence
-food in the fridge and cupboard; food in my tummy
-warm house; warm bed
-wanting for nothing
-friends that check in to see how your doing
-supportive spouse
-cutest puppy dog in the world

Some times what we feel are our roughest days are nothing compared to those who are really struggling.

Be kind to strangers because you never know when you may be entertaining an angel.

UPDATE from the armchair: Sunday, February 1

Well it’s been a great day!

We’ve had the fun of an “overnighter” with the granddaughters.

I came up the stairs understanding that grampa had made hot chocolate for them. It was hot - but when it cooled enough he called them to get it. What I heard upon entering our mainliving space is our youngest saying “I like mine with double foam” 😳 what? Apparently they have a “frother “ at their house lol.

We made cupcakes for my parents anniversary today. 63 years. February 1, 1963. Not too many people these days make it that long. Truly inspirational ❤️

Had a lovely spontaneous get together at their place to which they were delighted with. All great grandchildren and grandchildren present 😊

Right hip has been good; left knee not so good. I see the surgeon for my follow up appointment on February 10 so I think I have to have a serious talk and consideration about getting my left knee fixed. Could mean not the best summer, but at least I wouldn’t be dealing with snow ❄️

Well I was thinking bedtime around 5:30 but apparently that was “too soon” so I’m thinking now might be more appropriate lol.

Hope everyone stayed warm today and enjoyed the sunshine 🌞

UPDATE from NOT the armchair: Friday, January 30

Finally ….. a date night ❤️

Beautiful afternoon for a drive. Ok, so I had a chiro appointment BUT it got us out of the house and enjoyed the scenery, sunshine and fresh air.

Had a lovely spontaneous visit with my handsome brother, Joseph Fenton and beautiful purple-haired SIL Tanya Fenton - always lovely to share a coffee and catch up.

Headed to Boston Pizza and enjoyed some appetizers- delish.

Met our dear friends, Carole H Ewert and Victor Ewert for an action movie. The movie did move faster than me lol. Topped off by a stop for “after 8pm appetizers” at Kelseys before driving back home.

It was a lovely outing and long overdue.

Hip is tired. Left knee is singing like it’s auditioning for a position in Les Miserable- but for tonight - I will put ear plugs in to drown out the racket (and a couple strong Tylenol 😉)

Sleep well 😴 everyone and stay warm. 🔥

UPDATE from the armchair (kinda 🤷‍♀️): Monday, January 26

Well there was some armchairing today but not like there has been.

Started the day with 12 minutes on the vibration plate …. So far so good.

Got dressed, had brekky, tidy upstairs a bit, started on some tax prep ….. and decided that was enough. lol. Didn’t want to overdo it 🤪

Realized around 1:00 pm that my cane that I parked near the kitchen counter was still there and that I had been moving around without it 👍🏻

I’m still not walking smoothly. Little bit of a wounded penguin hobble 🐧 but it’s progress.

Chilled for a bit …… wintery days.

Tomorrow - hoping for more improvements 😊

UPDATE from the armchair (-12C late evening edition): Saturday, January 24

Pretty good day. Little bit more walking without the cane. Some was more out of necessity than my comfort level.

I’m finding using the cane with my left hand - my baby and ring finger have been going numb and the palm of my hand and wrist are killing me 😭. Anyone else have this experience?

Had a lovely visit with Rachael Russo and Tony Russo and the boys. Especially the birthday boy 🎉. Where has 9 years gone? ❤️ Nannie and grampa love you so big!

Had a beautiful bunch of flowers delivered from a very special friend. Thank you Alicja Hands on Health Massage Therapy Port Colborne - you brightened my day ❤️

Made a dessert and had a nice visit out before the snowmageddon happens 😂❄️

Time for a hot cup of chi tea 🫖 and some curcumax, itaren and itadol to support the inflammation and tightness in my left knee and right hip-side area.

UPDATE from the armchair (brrrrrr 🥶): Friday, January 23rd

It was a good day. Had a lovely visit from 2 very special ladies. Thank you Heidi Ewert and your partner in crime (the lovely Madie) for the giggles; it made my day ❤️

Did some walking around (small areas of inside real estate) without the cane. Not going to lie, there was some sweating going on like I was a contender in the Olympics for one of the podium spots lol. 🏅

Went for a very short car ride to get some blood work done. Puttered around the house. Dinner, and …… done.

Recovery is hard work. 😓

Thank you for everyone that is keeping me in your prayers and thoughts.

UPDATE from the armchair: Thursday, January 22

Nothing like a blustery winter day for gourmet hotdogs for supper. Nope, no barbecue was used in the making of these bad boys LOL. Oven roasted. Yum!

Physio yesterday kicked my butt. Repercussions today 😞

So - slowed down my day. Did some gentle stretching. Puttered. Rested. Rinse and repeat.

I guess some days will be like this to remind me that healing takes time and that I need to learn some patience for the process and with myself.

I’ve been go go go for so long I think my whole being didn’t really know how to be put on pause.

Again, so very thankful for Rachael Russo and Jenny Lima for handling the office. ❤️
