🌟 Meet Sasha – Our Bubbly Future Funeral Director! 🌟

Sasha has been part of the Arbor family for almost 2 years, currently completing her internship with just a few months left before she becomes a licensed funeral director. 🎓✨

With her gushy heart, bubbly personality, and contagious loud laugh, Sasha brings happiness and light to everyone around her. 😊❤️

Fun fact: Sasha is a twin and the only true redhead in her family , though her current black hair may disguise it, she remains the fiery original at heart. 🔥🍀

We’re so excited to see her grow and shine even more in her career. Keep spreading that joy, Sasha!

👋 Meet the Staff Fridays 👋

Today, we’re proud to introduce Bryan, a dedicated member of our team here at JJ Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence.

Bryan has been a part of the Arbor family for 27 years, serving in a variety of roles across the company. His commitment and experience are just a few of the many qualities that make him such a valued part of our team.

🎸 Outside of work, Bryan is a passionate musician. He’s been playing guitar and bass in punk rock bands since he was 16, and continues to rock out today. He also plays banjo in a bluegrass band, showing his love for music in all its forms!

🏕️ When he’s not playing music, you’ll likely find Bryan camping up north with his family—fishing, canoeing, hiking, and soaking in all the joys of nature.

🌊 Fun fact: Bryan once saved someone from drowning! (Though he modestly admits he’s not quite the swimmer he used to be. 😄)

🎶 Concerts on the Canal + Community Support = One Incredible Summer! 🎶

This summer, the JJ Patterson & Sons team proudly came together during the Concerts on the Canal series to host a fundraiser in support of The Hope Centre— a cause that means so much to all of us. 💙

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing community and the dedication of our staff who volunteered their Friday evenings, we are thrilled to share that over the course of four Fridays, we raised an incredible $463.95, with every dollar going directly to The Hope Centre and the vital work they do in our city.

👏 A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, donated, and supported this initiative. Your kindness made all the difference, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

Here’s to community, compassion, and coming together to make a difference. We’re already looking forward to next summer! 🌞

If you've visited JJ Patterson and Sons Funeral Residence, there's a good chance you've been warmly greeted by one of Welland’s most familiar faces — Mark.

With a lifetime of community service and deep roots in everything Welland, Mark has dedicated himself to helping people of all ages across our city. Whether supporting children, adults, or seniors, he’s always worked to make life a little brighter for those around him.

This year, Mark is proudly celebrating his 3rd anniversary as a Funeral Director’s Assistant with us — and he’s often heard saying, “I love this job.”

We’re grateful to have Mark as part of our JJ Patterson family — his compassion and dedication continue to make a lasting impact on everyone who walks through our doors. 💙

🌟 Wrapping Up a Summer of Giving 🌟

This past Friday marked the final Concert on the Canal of the season — and with it, the close of our summer-long fundraising efforts in support of The Hope Centre

All summer long, JJ Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence was proud to be on-site during each concert, offering popcorn and water to attendees. With every bag and bottle, 100% of proceeds went directly to The Hope Centre to help support vital programs in our community.

To make the final night even more special, some of our employees' children joined us to help serve and support the cause — a true reflection of how deeply our team and their families care about giving back.

Thank you to everyone who donated, stopped by our table, and supported this meaningful initiative. Your kindness made a real difference. 💛

💙 Meet Chris – He’s Been Here Longer Than the Office Furniture 💙

For over four decades, Chris has been a comforting presence at J.J. Patterson & Sons. With genuine compassion and quiet strength, he considers it a true honour to walk alongside families during life’s most tender and difficult moments.

Chris’s care doesn’t stop at our doors. He’s spent years giving back to the community he loves, volunteering with organizations that support healthcare, youth safety, the environment, and economic equity. His kindness and dedication ripple far and wide.

Outside of work and service, Chris has a need for speed — quite literally! A lifelong enthusiast of motorcycles and automobiles, he’s even taken the wheel of a stock car at Las Vegas and Daytona, hitting speeds over 275 km/h. But no matter how fast he goes, he always finds time for what matters most: family, friends, and helping others.

Chris brings warmth, wisdom, and a spark of adventure to everything he does. We’re so lucky to call him part of the J.J. Patterson family. 💫

At JJ Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence, compassion extends beyond our walls.

We're incredibly proud to share that Sasha, our Intern Funeral Director and a licensed hairstylist, recently donated her time on behalf of JJ Patterson & Sons to provide back-to-school haircuts for the children residing at Gillian's Place.

With each snip and smile, Sasha helped boost confidence and spread joy, reminding us all that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Seeing the children walk away with fresh haircuts and renewed confidence was truly heartwarming, and a beautiful reminder of the impact community care can have.

For the past 2.5 years, James has been a valued member of the Arbor team, serving families with heartfelt dedication and care.

When he’s not at work, James loves camping with his partner and spending time with his two adorable miniature dachshunds. 🏕️🐾

Originally dreaming of becoming a mechanic, James discovered his true passion lies in helping others with compassion. Plus, his great sense of humor and infectious belly laughs always brighten the room!
