Alternatives for Women is a feminist organization providing second stage housing, community counselling, and transitional services for abused women, and educational programming in Prince Edward County.
The Alternative’s for Women team is committed to breaking down the systemic and everyday barriers faced by women and their children as they exit abusive relationships. We’re looking for community members who share this passion.
Volunteer roles help us to maintain our programming and buildings. Tasks include childcare, providing transportation within PEC, sorting and packaging donations for clients, maintenance around buildings, and assisting with events like International Women’s Day and Take Back the Night.
All volunteers are required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Background check. Training is available to new volunteers, and will be tailored to the volunteer role you are interested in.
If you have questions about volunteering with us, please don’t hesitate to contact Ellen Carlisle, Training and Public Engagement Coordinator for Alternatives for Women.
