The Paper Birch
The Paper Birch started as a far-off dream of creating a space where people can find resources to aid them on their human journey. Over years of uncovering and shedding all the layers that held her back, Janet was finally able to bring her idea to fruition. But she didn’t do it alone. As the saying goes....“It takes a village to raise a child”. The village has most definitely helped raise this child! So many awesome souls have appeared to support the space and assist Janet in creating a wonderful place for those seeking self-empowerment.
Why The Paper Birch? The name of the store always needed to be a tree....trees are the ultimate in stability and support. They provide oxygen for us to breath, wood for our homes, and a safe place to express our feelings (they never talk back!) Trees come in all shapes and sizes and never judge another if it isn’t standing tall in the forest...trees allow all beings on the planet to just be who they are.
The Birch Tree is common across all parts of the Northern Hemisphere and in Celtic tradition, represents new beginnings and rebirth. It is the first tree to welcome Spring! Birch bark is extremely versatile and many a book has been written on it’s bark. It seemed perfect that the little shop should be named after such a tree! Paper for the books that hold so much knowledge, Birch for new beginnings and birthing of a new life.
And so it begins....
