Residents at Venvi Churchill Place in Oakville were treated to a tasty presentation from a local student entrepreneur. Charlotte, a 15-year-old with a passion for baking, started her business, Grain & Loaf Co, to showcase that healthy can also mean delicious. Specializing in whole grain, good for you baked items, Charlotte is dedicated to bringing fresh, locally sourced, and handcrafted goods to customers.

Joined by her mother and grandmother, Charlotte brought her baked scones, muffins, and challah bread to share with residents, who were inspired by her energy and passion. She shared her story, recounting how she had taught herself to bake through trial and error, experimenting with healthier ingredients to make her treats more nutritious without sacrificing taste.

By the end of the presentation, Charlotte not only shared her delicious baked goods but also forged connections bridging generations through the joy of baking.

The Bentley Regina recently celebrated their grand re-opening after months of renovations. Residents were joined by Regina’s Mayor, Chad Bachynski, and other members of the community who were able to enjoy the inviting new spaces. The residence features an ode to The Capitol Theatre and an all-new pub called The Honking Goose Tavern. Guests had the opportunity to sample the Pension Plan Pilsner, a collaboration with The Bentley Regina and Pile O Bones Brewery located in Regina - a true Saskatchewan beer. A new resident at Venvi Windsor Park retirement residence felt overwhelmed on her first day, until a group of compassionate residents embraced her warmly. Over lunch, they shared stories and realized they all hailed from the same Italian town. What began as a simple gesture blossomed into an hour of laughter, camaraderie, and encouragement.

Fresh, flavourful, and perfect for spring — try our Green Goddess Salad with smoked salmon and prawns! This small-batch recipe is perfect for a cozy meal for one or a special dinner for two! 🥰 🌿 See below for the full recipe >>>>>
🥗 Green Goddess Salad with Smoked Salmon and Prawns 🥂
Dressing Ingredients:
• 1 cup whole milk Greek yogurt
• 1 cup fresh parsley
• 1 cup mixed soft leafy herbs (like dill, mint, tarragon, and/or cilantro)
• 2 tbsp chopped chives
• 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice + ½ tsp zest
• 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
• 2 tsp capers
• 1 garlic clove
• ¼ tsp sea salt
• Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions:
1. Add the herbs and yogurt to a food processor and pulse until smooth.
2. Toss salad with smoked salmon, prawns, and a drizzle of dressing for a refreshing, satisfying meal. 💚

🎉 What an incredible success the Hollyburn House Fair was! 🎉

We had a fantastic variety of vendors offering everything from balance assessments to travel, art, books, and acupuncture – all designed to enhance well-being. A big thank you to all our vendors! West Vancouver Arts Council My Home Rehab and Physiotherapy for Seniors

We rolled out the red carpet for a dazzling Oscars celebration! Residents strutted their stuff, posed with our life-size Oscar statue, and enjoyed a decadent surf & turf dinner. The night was filled with unforgettable Oscar-winning hits performed by our favorite trio, Caviar & Lace. The award for Best Movie went to Bombay Princess, and plenty of golden statuettes were handed out. A night of glitz, glamour, and great company—Hollywood has nothing on us! ✨🎬🍾

We had an incredible time celebrating the legendary Scottish poet, Robert Burns! The evening was filled with the rich sounds of bagpipes, the lively steps of Scottish dancers, and, of course, the traditional piping in of the haggis. Everyone looked fantastic, embracing the spirit of the occasion. Burns Night, observed annually on January 25th, is a cherished tradition honoring Scotland’s National Bard. It’s a night that brings together haggis, whisky, poetry, and camaraderie, embodying the essence of Scottish culture. Our celebration was a true testament to this, and we couldn’t have asked for a better night!

The highlight? Personalized table cards showcasing residents’ photos from their younger years, sparking joy and nostalgia all around. A night of elegance, connection, and unforgettable memories!

🌟 A huge success for Hollyburn House's 3rd Annual Art Walk! 🌟What an incredible afternoon celebrating the immense talent of our residents—so many gifted artists right here among us! The creativity on display was truly inspiring, from mixed media and acrylics to watercolors, pen and ink, photography, and more.

It was a beautiful day filled with art, wine, and enchanting live music by Rebecca. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their creativity and made this event so special. It was also a treat to see residents showcasing pieces from their art collections, featuring the work of talented Canadian artists.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!
Residents had a delightful time at our recent Ice Cream Social. Seconds and even thirds were enjoyed as various flavours of gelato were sampled and a plethora of toppings were piled high on sundaes and cones.

Hollyburn was blushing pink on April 18th as we celebrating Springtime in Japan and Sakura Festival. Residents and guests arrive in shades of pink to enjoy a sake tasting with Masa Shiroki of Artisan Sake Marker of Granville Island. Masa detailed how he produces is award-winning handcrafted local sake.
We then were treated to an incredible meal that featured local fresh dishes paired with Masa's sake. The lovely Rebecca Blair was at her harp, adding a beautiful touch to evening.
We wrapped up the evening with a performance by Tomoe Arts Dance Company. What a night!
