What a blast we had at our Country Western Party last month!
It was so much fun seeing everyone out on the dance floor grooving to the Cheek to Cheek Duo with the Silver Diamond Country Line Dancers showing us how its done.
We wrapped up the night with a wild conga line to "Tequila" – and yep, it was as fun as it sounds!🎶
Shoutout to our culinary team for those mouthwatering ribs – seriously, to die for! 😋
Yeehaw, y’all – can’t wait to do it again! 🤠

Hollyburn House visits Granville Island with Chef Mario
Chef Mario took us on a delicious food tour of Granville Island! We started with coffee and pastries at A Bread Affair, followed by a stroll through the market where we selected fresh ingredients to create our evening meal. Lunch at The Lobster Man was a highlight, rounding out this truly “foodtastic” adventure. A big thank-you to Chef Mario and team!

Recently, Karen fulfilled her lifelong love of music by attending a Jann Arden concert with her granddaughter, while Ernest, a vintage car enthusiast, enjoyed a ride in a restored 1932 Auburn.

Residents at Venvi Churchill Place in Oakville were treated to a tasty presentation from a local student entrepreneur. Charlotte, a 15-year-old with a passion for baking, started her business, Grain & Loaf Co, to showcase that healthy can also mean delicious. Specializing in whole grain, good for you baked items, Charlotte is dedicated to bringing fresh, locally sourced, and handcrafted goods to customers.

Joined by her mother and grandmother, Charlotte brought her baked scones, muffins, and challah bread to share with residents, who were inspired by her energy and passion. She shared her story, recounting how she had taught herself to bake through trial and error, experimenting with healthier ingredients to make her treats more nutritious without sacrificing taste.

By the end of the presentation, Charlotte not only shared her delicious baked goods but also forged connections bridging generations through the joy of baking.

The Bentley Regina recently celebrated their grand re-opening after months of renovations. Residents were joined by Regina’s Mayor, Chad Bachynski, and other members of the community who were able to enjoy the inviting new spaces. The residence features an ode to The Capitol Theatre and an all-new pub called The Honking Goose Tavern. Guests had the opportunity to sample the Pension Plan Pilsner, a collaboration with The Bentley Regina and Pile O Bones Brewery located in Regina - a true Saskatchewan beer. A new resident at Venvi Windsor Park retirement residence felt overwhelmed on her first day, until a group of compassionate residents embraced her warmly. Over lunch, they shared stories and realized they all hailed from the same Italian town. What began as a simple gesture blossomed into an hour of laughter, camaraderie, and encouragement.

Fresh, flavourful, and perfect for spring — try our Green Goddess Salad with smoked salmon and prawns! This small-batch recipe is perfect for a cozy meal for one or a special dinner for two! 🥰 🌿 See below for the full recipe >>>>>
🥗 Green Goddess Salad with Smoked Salmon and Prawns 🥂
Dressing Ingredients:
• 1 cup whole milk Greek yogurt
• 1 cup fresh parsley
• 1 cup mixed soft leafy herbs (like dill, mint, tarragon, and/or cilantro)
• 2 tbsp chopped chives
• 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice + ½ tsp zest
• 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
• 2 tsp capers
• 1 garlic clove
• ¼ tsp sea salt
• Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions:
1. Add the herbs and yogurt to a food processor and pulse until smooth.
2. Toss salad with smoked salmon, prawns, and a drizzle of dressing for a refreshing, satisfying meal. 💚

We rolled out the red carpet for a dazzling Oscars celebration! Residents strutted their stuff, posed with our life-size Oscar statue, and enjoyed a decadent surf & turf dinner. The night was filled with unforgettable Oscar-winning hits performed by our favorite trio, Caviar & Lace. The award for Best Movie went to Bombay Princess, and plenty of golden statuettes were handed out. A night of glitz, glamour, and great company—Hollywood has nothing on us! ✨🎬🍾

We had an incredible time celebrating the legendary Scottish poet, Robert Burns! The evening was filled with the rich sounds of bagpipes, the lively steps of Scottish dancers, and, of course, the traditional piping in of the haggis. Everyone looked fantastic, embracing the spirit of the occasion. Burns Night, observed annually on January 25th, is a cherished tradition honoring Scotland’s National Bard. It’s a night that brings together haggis, whisky, poetry, and camaraderie, embodying the essence of Scottish culture. Our celebration was a true testament to this, and we couldn’t have asked for a better night!

🌟 A huge success for Hollyburn House's 3rd Annual Art Walk! 🌟What an incredible afternoon celebrating the immense talent of our residents—so many gifted artists right here among us! The creativity on display was truly inspiring, from mixed media and acrylics to watercolors, pen and ink, photography, and more.

It was a beautiful day filled with art, wine, and enchanting live music by Rebecca. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their creativity and made this event so special.
