Dr. Moore’s The Good Sleep Guide for Neurodivergent Children is an excellent resource for clinicians and families alike. It integrates scientific research to explore various sleep concerns and how to support good sleep! I love that it also normalizes different sleep patterns and uses creative approaches to help us “move the needle on the compass.” I recently had the pleasure of hearing Dr Moore speak about her book and loved further reflecting on sleep and the importance of staying intentional with our needs and how tweaking even small things can make a big difference! Here’s to good sleep! 😴

Many of our neurodivergent clients tend to be “picky eaters.” What many families may be surprised to learn is that this “picky eating” may actually be part of the newer DSM-5 diagnosis Avoidant/ restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). Read our new blog post (link in bio) to learn more about this very important topic!

Special thanks to for the informative and inspiring presentation last week on this topic with hosting 👏

Yesterday marked our final D&D session of this cycle! 🎲⛰️

Our groups completed a magical adventure filled with unexpected twists. Throughout the adventure, we practiced key skills including problem-solving by working through unexpected challenges, teamwork and communication through planning and coordinating actions in real time, coping and resilience when facing setbacks in the story, turn-taking, and perspective-taking by stepping into their characters and considering different viewpoints.

Both groups began by climbing a fog-covered mountain, trying to understand the source of the noise and mist. At the top, they discovered a magical pool and a large tree creature swinging its arms🌳, churning the water into mist and fog 🌫️. As a team, they worked together to calm it down using sleep and aroma spells, and ultimately removed a crystal lodged within it💎. The creature then settled, and the fog began to clear.

As visibility returned, the world below was revealed—Flora and Fiona, the witch’s hut, goblin caves, Spider River, animal friends, the troll, and the village. A flying green crystal dragon appeared, injured and missing a limb. The group used collected crystals to heal and restore it💎, and it flew off happily into the forest 🐉✨

They then made their way back down the mountain, reuniting with friends, pets, and the town, who celebrated together and expressed gratitude for lifting the fog. They even adopted Pebbles the cat! The final twist revealed that the chaos all began with a small fireworks mishap from our friend Fizbang 👀

Stay tuned for our next D&D Group Series!

Here are 4 ways Occupational Therapy can support you 🤍

Sometimes it’s not about “trying harder” — it’s about having the right support, tools, and understanding of how your mind and body work together.

Occupational therapy focuses on helping you build skills for everyday life in a way that feels manageable, personalized, and sustainable.

Support doesn’t have to be one-size-fits-all. It can be tailored to you — your needs, your pace, your life.

If your child could benefit from this kind of support, we’re here to help.

Some thoughts can be hard to let go of — they linger, repeat, and can pull us into patterns of
worry, doubt, or overthinking.

We’ve just shared a new blog post on “sticky thoughts” and how learning to “unhook” from
them is a key part of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This approach helps us
notice thoughts without getting stuck in them, creating more space to respond with
mindfulness, acceptance, and intention rather than reacting automatically.

At we use ACT-informed strategies to support children and youth in
building these skills in a developmentally appropriate way — helping them learn how to
relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions.

Our latest D&D group session was full of adventure! 🎲✨

Group 1 journeyed up a muddy mountain in stormy weather, alongside their animal friends 🐾, including Pebbles the cat, another magical winged cat, the lightening lizard, and Julian the monkey chef. After finding a cave up the mountain, they faced off against zombies rising from the mud 🧟‍♂️ Using powers like magic spears and thunderclap, they defeated them—but the story didn’t end there. Two of our players' characters became possessed by the zombie spirits. Through some teamwork, the group helped release the spirits, and even turned them into allies 🤝

Group 2 picked up their adventure in the forest 🌲✨ where they discovered a scary witch’s hut… Curious and brave, they decided to enter through the chimney 🏠, and found themselves inside a space full of interesting surprises, including a large pot of red strawberry sauce 🍓 Before long, they found themselves sitting down for dinner with the witch, who unfortunately, did not enjoy the sauce. A mix of curiosity, bravery, and a bit of humor made for another memorable session.

Stay tuned to see where their adventure leads next!
