One of our gentlemen went out on the water recently and came back with something incredible. 🎣

Fresh salmon. Cleaned by hand. Cooked with care. Served at our table.

But here's the thing nobody talks about enough, one of the most powerful parts of healing is learning to take care of yourself again.

That means nourishing your body. That means eating REAL food. That means knowing where your meal comes from and feeling PROUD of that.

At Ray of Hope Lodge, we believe recovery isn't just about the mind. It's about reconnecting with yourself. And sometimes that looks like a beautiful plate of fresh salmon, rice, and garden veggies made with intention. ❤️

A Path of Healing, Wholeness & Sacred Love ❤️

Before you can truly love someone else, you have to be willing to sit with yourself, all of yourself. The parts you are proud of, and the parts you have been running from. Healing is not weakness. It is the most courageous thing a man can do. Indigenous wisdom passed down through generations of Elders across Turtle Island teaches us that we cannot pour from an empty vessel, and that the journey inward is always the journey home.

The Seven Sacred Teachings, Love, Respect, Courage, Truth, Honesty, Humility, and Wisdom, are the Anishinaabe principles for living a good life. They are not just a guide for how we treat others. They are a mirror for how we must first treat ourselves. It takes Courage to face your wounds and say I will not pass this on. It takes Honesty to stop wearing masks, Humility to walk beside rather than above, and Truth to only offer what you have genuinely lived. A man who moves through life this way does not chase love. He becomes the kind of man love recognizes.

And when he gets there, he carries the Eagle's gift, Love, not desperately, but steadily. With the kind of wholeness that makes him safe for the right woman to come home to.

"Each of these teachings must be used with the rest. You cannot have one without all."
The Seven Grandfathers

We showed up today. All of us. ❤️

We took to the streets of Kelowna for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women's March and we didn't walk alone. All the brothers from the lodge, because this is not just a women's fight. It never was.

Every name. Every face. Every woman and girl who never came home. We carry them with us.

So many in our circle have lost someone. A sister. A mother. A friend. A daughter. Today we walked for them and we made a promise to the ones we've loved and lost that we will never stop saying their names.

Thank you to everyone who showed up. Your presence matters more than you know. ❤️

Nature doesn't make anything more pure than this. Watch as we collect the water that flows through our healing lodge, straight from the mountain, exactly as it was meant to be.

When did you last drink water that came directly from a living mountain stream?

"They said get sober. We said get your spirit back."

Somewhere between the medicine brush off and the fire circle, something shifts. You stop white-knuckling sobriety and start remembering who you were before the pain. That's what we do at Ray of Hope Lodge — we don't just help you get sober, we help you remember you were always worth saving.

Just wanted to share a bit of what life looks like in recovery.

We got out go karting, laughing, competing, just enjoying the moment. Then out on the ball field together, soaking up the sun and being present.

This is what it’s about.
Connection. Brotherhood. Living again.

Watching the men smile, support each other, and just be themselves… that’s the real healing.

Recovery isn’t just about getting clean.
It’s about getting your life back.

Grateful for these moments and the path we’re on.

THE 7 SACRED TEACHINGS
When we live in love, respect, courage, wisdom, truth, humility, and honesty,
we begin to walk in a better way.

Not just for ourselves,
but for all of creation.

These teachings guide us to be better human beings on this earth,
to move with purpose,
to treat others with kindness,
and to live in balance with the world around us.

This is more than a path.
It is a way of becoming who we were meant to be.

Out on the land today with a few of the men from the lodge.

Standing in front of that water, you can feel it…
everything slows down.
The mind gets quiet.
The weight we carry doesn’t feel as heavy.

Water keeps moving no matter what.
It doesn’t stay stuck.
It reminds us we don’t have to either.

These are the moments that matter.
Fresh air. Real connection. Brotherhood.
No masks, no pressure, just being present and walking this path together.

Healing isn’t always loud.
Sometimes it looks like this.

18,000 lives.
Let that sink in.

18,000 people gone in 10 years—
not statistics… people.
Loved. Missed. Remembered.

Today we stood above the noise of traffic to make one thing clear:
this crisis is still here—and it’s still taking our people.

This is what 10 years of the overdose crisis looks like.
Devastation. Grief. Empty spaces that will never be filled.

KANDU x Ray of Hope Lodge
standing together, not just for awareness—
but for action, for healing, for change.

We will keep showing up.
We will keep speaking out.
We will not let these lives be forgotten.

18,000 is not okay. Not now. Not ever.
