Can I run again if I have urine leakage or prolapse? YES! ☝🏼Part 2

The pelvic floor support is not the only factor to consider☝🏼.

- Ensuring the pelvic floor coordinates with the other core muscles is key 🔑

And

- Managing habits that may be creating EXCESS pressure or limiting our core’s mobility can be the game changer. 🤯

Can I run again if I have urine leakage or prolapse? YES! ☝🏼

You don’t have to give up what you love. It’s about building you up from your foundation.

Watch here for Part #1 of our series on how to do it and what I feel is the major missing link in the cases I rehab.

Return to running is a step by step process and I’ll show you how.

See below for videos explaining the pelvic floor and how it works.

Ouf. This is a great explanation!

We see patients all the time who say a well meaning manual therapist has told them their pelvis or hips are out of alignment... Our message?! You’re not that fragile.

Pain science tell us the FEAR of movement can amplify pain and make us move in unbalanced ways and make us feel very misaligned.

Let’s see if we can move more freely and let the nervous system balance you out. We can show you how.

Let’s start the discussion. There is pelvic hope 💜. ASK.

You don’t have to 💩 once a day! Forcing daily can cause significant pelvic floor issues. P**p happens when it happens! Normal frequency is 3x per day to 3x per week!

You may have heard that you should be p**ping once a day -- but that's a load of crap, says Dr. Jen Gunter. From the enzymes in your mouth to the nutrient-absorbing power of your large intestine, she journeys through the digestive tract to explain why it's okay to p**p at your own pace -- and shares...

Calling men with persistent pelvic pain!

If you have persistent perineal pain and you are a male, then we need you! Please help

Researchers at Curtin University need your help to test a new questionnaire measuring how people with persistent perineal pain perceive this area of their body.

Your input will help to refine this new questionnaire, which will ultimately help clinicians better understand how body perception is altered in people with persistent perineal pain, and hence improve treatment outcomes.

Please click on the link to complete this survey, which is completely anonymous and will take approximately 30 minutes of your time

Meet Julia! She is our newest physio intern from McGill and she is doing a great job!

ASK is more than a treatment centre. We’re a training centre. Fresh eyes and new perspectives keep us sharp and it is always a joy to share our knowledge and to learn from the next generation.

Also, we have THE BEST patients who welcome allowing our interns to practice and have diverse hands on experience. This is hugely valued and our interns graduate prepared. THANK YOU!
