A calm-down box is a go-to toolkit for emotional regulation.

It could include:
🖐️ A sensory toy
📚 A favourite book
🧸 A soft object or plush
🖍️ Drawing tools

The goal isn’t to “stop” the feeling, but to help your child experience and move through it.

When big feelings take over, children don’t always have the words or tools to cope. The calm-down box isn’t a punishment or a time-out. It’s a supportive space filled with items that help your child self-soothe and regulate.

Make it part of their routine before they’re overwhelmed. Then, when tough moments come, the tools feel familiar and comforting.
