Transgender Day of Visibility: How to be an ally in Whistler

1. Learn the basics: share your pronouns (in-person, on your social pages, in your emails), ask what name and pronouns people prefer to use. If you goof up, apologize and move on.
2. Make simple changes to your business practice: modify forms and language to be inclusive, provide all gender washrooms, and take 2SLGBTQIA+ courses and training, including those that are specific to your field of work. Most universities and professional associations offer training for free or low cost. Check out , , Trans Care BC, .ca for resources or training.
3. Don’t be a bystander when you see or hear discrimination taking place.
4. Learn about and support local programming. Follow them on socials as they are constantly offering educational tid bits or even webinars and sessions. Even better, donate to these programs also!

I treat low back pain from a biopsychosocial model.

If you have chronic low back pain, seek out care that accounts for all aspects of your life, be it personal, physical, social or your environment.

If you struggle with low back pain that has persisted for more than 3 months, ask your health worker about different care options that match your needs.

You might need to see a few different health workers to find the best combination of treatments that benefit you.

🌟 The Physiotherapy Profession Is Evolving — Again!

From our profession’s earliest roots to the transformative advances we lead today, physiotherapists have continually answered society’s call—cultivating recovery, sparking resilience, and helping people rise.

With major health‑care challenges facing B.C., physiotherapy is once again evolving — and your voice matters.

This week, we met with the Doctors of BC and attended several municipal council meetings. We’re excited to share that multiple municipalities have now formally endorsed this effort, with many more actively considering it — including the Town of Creston, featured in yesterday’s My Creston Now story via the link in our story! 📰

🔎 There’s ONE WEEK LEFT in the provincial consultation that could help ensure physiotherapists in B.C. can order diagnostic imaging.

📅 By March 31:

Take 2 minutes and send a message to: PROREGADMIN@gov.bc.ca

Let’s shape the future of physiotherapy in our province — together 💪✨

The Get Moving Challenge STARTS NOW!! The Whistler Health Care Foundation has joined forces with Back In Action Physiotherapy & Massage and Whistler Community Services Society to host the Get Moving Challenge from January 1 to 31, 2026.

The challenge is to move 50 or 100 km—in any way that works for you! Whether you run, walk, snowshoe, swim, roll, skate, cross-country ski, downhill ski, snowboard or bike, your efforts will help raise funds for the Whistler Community Services Physiotherapy Assistance Program.

You’re not just committing to your own health – you’re also giving the gift of physiotherapy to community members who need support the most.

Those who complete the challenge will be eligible for amazing prizes including: ski package from Rossignol a Four Seasons Resort Whistler hotel package, a Bhavana Studio membership, dog walks from Aunty Kathy's Dog Adventures, and more!

For those who are injured or unable to participate, you can still join the giving spirit: sponsor one of the “local movers” or donate a physiotherapy session to support someone’s recovery journey. We also have a pet category and donation only option, so there is something for everyone.
