Ayurveda aka the science of common sense, can be applied to life across our entire planet. No matter where you live, it’s teachings have stood the test of time, and the simplicity is just as poignant now as it was thousands of years ago. Bringing balance and bringing you back to your centre by working with the seasonal fluctuations of nature. With climate change making its presence more and more prevalent, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to correlate between it and our high physical and mental health crises.
Record breaking temperatures = record breaking disease.
Yesterday’s IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) report, led by the United Nations and hundreds of global climate scientists, has stated that climate change is definitely real. The Atlantic’s remarks on the report claim, ‘It’s grim. It’s a crisis and it’s caused by fossil fuels. Climate change has arrived, in other words, and it will keep getting worse until humanity reduces its greenhouse-gas pollution to zero.’
The Definition of health as stated by the World Health Organization, is a ‘state of complete physical, mental and social well-being’. With temperatures rising, floods, drought, and storms shattering our planet, we cannot expect our states of well being to improve without taking immediate action.
The more we avoid our planet’s appeal for love, the less connected we become with ourselves. Healing yourself and tuning into the planet on a more intimate level is the most important thing you can do with this life, for yourself, your loved ones, and all living (and non-living) beings big and small across our entire globe.
The magic of Tofino, it’s fresh air, sunsets, whales and waves always leave me in awe. The ocean is where I tend to go to bring balance into my life, especially whislt living in the mountains. We must do everything we can to save ourselves by saving what remains of our planet’s beauty. Tofino has a way of making me feel instantly calm, I can breathe more fully, realigning with what I need most (= waves and rest)
