🩵 Labouring Love & Being Enough..... too much?

‼️Here are the 7 big warning signs. ( applicable to all!)

❓Did you know that some of the most super "successful" people in your lives have a terrible, deep dark secret?

They believe that they aren't enough.

🩷 Whether it's in love, career, relationships or even their very own physical or emotional wellbeing, they believe they aren't enough.

🏆⭐️🏆They may be super functional and optically "successful", but that external success and all the associated coping strategies mask deep inner scars that are often deep childhood wounds.

🏃🏃🏃When you believe that you're not enough, nothing will ever be enough, and life becomes an endless, exhausting pursuit of all the different ways to fill that hole or cover those scars and wounds.

⁉️Still Role Playing?

🩵 I'm so fortunate to be trained by Marisa Peer.

There are many models that help explain how we adopt roles at a young age to receive attention, in an effort to feel significant/loved/heard/safe/connected or that we belong.

✅ I find this one to be the most consistent:

1-The Sick One
2-The Perfect/Brilliant One
3-The Helper/Carer
4- The Rebel

⭐️ I'll also add a 5th one:

5-the Controller/Dominator/Silencer

The roles can interchange. Moreover, any perceived threat to an individual's role, will activate a defense response.

For example, when the Perfect One perceives that their role is being challenged by new Perfect One, there will be conflict!

🌸 Luckily, we aren't born with these roles. We acquire them. So, because we acquire them, we can also let them go once we become aware of them!

🧠 What is also fascinating is that in response to these dynamics, these roles tend to activate 5 response mechanisms over time as these roles begin to manifest their harmful, self limiting effects:

1- Fight- the one who speaks up or who pushes back against imbalances/injustices or when they feel their personal boundaries are being crossed/disrespected. Theyll stick up for/ advocate for others. This is often the young Helper/Carer.

2- Flight - the one who runs away from/dodges the chaos/conflict/drama. They do this either mentally, emotionally or physically. They simply withdraw. They are absent or increasingly silent.

3-Freeze - the one who numbs out with food, booze, substances, media, etc. They become increasingly stuck & flatlined. Also increasingly absent or silent.

4- Fawn - has given up and simply pleases to appease and go with the flow. Typically is the young Perfect One or Helper. Yet ... even dead fish go with flow. The Fawner gradually abandons themselves in their lives.

5 -Free - the one who decides to heal completely and absolutely… In self help parlance … they’ve “done the work”. They know that they are enough They’ve become their own loving parents and cheerleaders in their lives. They are happy, successful, fulfilled, energized, balanced & resilient . They've given up their old roles They have complete sovereignty and self-agency over their neurophysiological state and lives. They will fully exit situations and relationships if required.

The Tiny Moment Hero’s Journey…

It’s a slow day in the gym today- starting with a lot of inner blabber chatter at home about all the reasons why to ditch it today.

Then came the sitting in my car- watching a video.

Then came the inner complaining.

What a great story ! ⬆️

And it’s boring !

- so I’m giving myself a new & better one for the rest of this session:

⭐️⭐️It’s awesome that I’m here! I made it and I’m making it happen! ⭐️⭐️

✅Just. One. Step.at. A Time! ✅

🎉And I’m saying yay! After each rep!

☕️Oh- and there’s a bonus coffee waiting for me in the car!

🌀Pro Tip take home:

Give your old , tiny repeat stories the the thrilling, epic hero’s pivot & ending they deserve- because that hero is YOU and you’re worth it. Even in the small micro moments. They all add up to create your life . Make up a better story- bc you’re right now in YOUR greatest story ever told!

Have fun with this - and don’t be too amazed at how it floods you with forward feelgood.

What's YOUR directional intention?

Write it down. NOW. Daydream about it & just take a tiny quickstep TODAY in that general direction. Make it so easy and small that it's effortless and maybe even fun. And don't be too surprised with what starts happening next- because the Universe is responsive.

Your Mind is like a super-smart, powerful and boundless energy energy dog. It has a huge nose, teeth, muscles, speed and endless love and loyalty for you. When you give it a bone to work on ... it will hunt it down for you like a heat-seeking missile & then really chew on it ... and transform it into something else. You get to decide what that is.

You get to choose to decide that direction.

If you don't give it something really meaningful to work on - it will chew on you & chew you up, itself... or your shoes... or other useless, damaging, destructive things.

One of the cruellest, cleverest beliefs holding you back is believing that you must "Heal" everything FIRST before you move forward.

The first step to moving forward is to give your Mind & SuperBrain something really meaningful to YOU, to move towards.

The more you choose, set and lock into place YOUR "moving forward focus" into your Mind, the faster, more accurately and more easily you'll identify what's holding you back and let it go ... & vault forward even faster towards your target in completely unexpected, really wonderful ways.

It's like a slingshot.

You can do both at the same time. "Healing" is a natural pulse that goes hand in hand with living and moving forward. They work together synergistically.

Imbalance & a big block is believing that you must transform and heal everything FIRST, before you can actually move forward in any way.

These are great tips.

Some things that I would add are:

Ask Key Questions

1 - If this habit + all the ways that it expresses itself (food, scrolling, booze, cleaning sock drawer, etc) were some kind of protective mechanism designed to move me away from pain/fear to pleasure/comfort..., what might it be trying to me from feeling, thinking or doing?

2- If Procrastination is a stress relief mechanism, what could be the root, the reason or the source of that stress?

Stare at your hand & choose to act instantly on any small little 1 thing that fulfills at least 1 of the following criteria AND that doesn't involve eating, buying anything or scrolling aimlessly.
