A little follow up info about the Horseradish from my previous reel... Bigger Isn't Always Better 🤣
So many of you were impressed by the size of the Horseradish that I harvested recently! I don't blame you... they have an impressive root structure once they are established. They grow quite large and spread their roots out.
I wanted to share this video to show the difference between the biggest chunk that is directly connected to the plant and the smaller bits that grow further down. Newer growth is smaller and more delicate, which not only makes it easier to chop and work with, but also usually means it has more usable material.

Just a big bowl of dried herbs!!
There are a bunch of immune supportive herbs in this big bowl. They are the dried components that go into my Fire Cider brew. There are lots of fresh goodies that go into my fire cider, but some things that I like to add just are no longer in season when it is time to brew it, so we use them dried!
I am glad to have access to so many herbs, both fresh and dried! There is an abundance of wild ones here and I also grow many of them on the homestead.
