Trends in wellness come and go — and while there’s space for all kinds of movement practices, at Yogacara, we’re intentionally choosing something different.

We’re here for the teachings that ground you, that grow with you, and that meet you where you are — breath by breath, year after year.

A student recently shared that in other studios, she felt like she wasn’t “part of the club” — like everyone knew each other, and she was on the outside. But here, she said, she never felt that way — that she felt seen, included, and welcome from day one.

Mountain biking is more than a physical pursuit — it's a moving meditation, a dance with nature, a test of balance, breath, and presence. Yoga for Mountain Bikers is a practice designed to bring harmony between your body, mind, and the trail beneath your wheels.

Darrah will support you in exploring yoga as a way to:

Restore mobility in the hips, spine, and shoulders — areas often restricted by long hours in the saddle
Build core stability and balance, cultivating strength from your center
Open your breath, creating space in the body and clarity in the mind
Ground your awareness, tuning into the rhythm of your ride and your inner landscape

Steve Fazzari (Shankara Deva) has been teaching yoga for over 20 years throughout the Sea to Sky. An initiated disciple of Sri Dharma Mittra, he shares the classical teachings of yoga with a modern, grounded approach. His classes blend ancient techniques with rhythm, music, and a sense of play - inviting students to explore challenging postures in safe, supported, and accessible ways. Whether you’re new to the practice or deepening your path, Steve creates a space where serious practice and lightheartedness can coexist, allowing each student to connect more deeply with their breath, body, and inner stillness.

Wondering which classes can help you play in the deep snow and recover quickly? Here are some tips from 👇

➡️ Hatha, vinyasa, and power will train your legs, core, balance (proprioception), endurance, and your mind to handle the deep stuff 🌨❄️ postures like chair (utkatasana), warrior 2 (virabhadrasana ll), and balancing asana are particularly helpful.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
➡️ after a powder day, you need a yin or restorative class. Why? To relieve tired muscles, release tension, and soothe your nervous system after an adrenaline filled day. Your mind will also appreciate the opportunity to relax and go inwards.

When you practice, we want you to foster a caring relationship with yourself. This means making sure you feel safe, seen, and supported. This is why we:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔ use consent for hands-on adjustments 🙌
✔ never take photos/videos of you in class 🚫📸
✔ don't care if you have the best gear, the most flexible body, or a "yoga body" (whatever that is)
✔ encourage using props
✔ want you to challenge yourself from a loving place. Sometimes that means physically, other times it's standing up to that voice in your head and allowing yourself to do less 🧘‍♀️
