A little threshold Magick indeed! Gorgeous graphics!
In old witchcraft and folk magic, doorways were never considered ordinary places. They were seen as thresholds, sacred boundaries where two worlds meet. A doorway separates the inside from the outside, the safe from the unknown, and in magical belief, the living from the spirit realm.
Many cunning folk believed that dawn was a moment when spirits lingered near these thresholds. As night fades and daylight begins to rise, the veil between realms shifts. Spirits that wander in the dark hours were said to pause at doorways, crossroads, and gates before returning to their own world.
Because of this belief, witches often treated doorways with care. Protective charms were placed above the frame, salt was scattered across the threshold, and some traditions recommended sweeping the doorway at sunrise to clear away lingering energies.
Doorways remind us that magic often exists in the spaces between things between night and morning, inside and outside, the seen and the unseen. And at dawn, when the world is quiet and the light begins to return, that threshold becomes a place where the presence of spirits was once believed to be felt most strongly.
