✨ Mirror, mirror on the wall… who’s the fairest clinic of them all?

Two days of Halloween fun at the clinic 🎃

Day 1: Snow White and her dwarfs. Plus one Evil Queen 👸🏻🍎

Day 2: T, our PTA, showed up as a hot dog 🌭 (because why not?), and Wolverine stopped by for his adjustment.

💙 Making History Together 🧡

2024 OUA Women’s Lacrosse Silver Medalists🥈

Beyond proud of this team and everything they’ve accomplished together this season!✨

Grateful for every moment with the Ridgebacks, from stepping onto the field as a goalie in our first ever OUA season, to goalie coaching, to now assisting coaching this team.

We wouldn’t be here without the unwavering belief and leadership of head coach Liane Chornobay that brought us here. 🥹

Here’s to our program’s first-ever OUA medal! 🐾

Over the last year I’ve been working on prioritizing myself more! 💗

In the past, I’ve experienced burn outo the point of fainting and my mental health came become secondary to taking care of others.

Sometimes as a practitioner I am so focused on making others feel better that I forget about myself.

When I’m not in the clinic or at the lacrosse field, I’ve been spending my time on activities that make my mind and body feel better.

Most of my hobbies involve my hands to keep them busy to mitigate the scratching of stress induced eczema flares.

What do you enjoy as part of your self-care routine? Let me know in the comments 😊

Acupuncture is a form of complementary medicine and a component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in which thin needless are inserted into the skin at specific points (referred to as “acupoints”).

The needles may be manipulated manually or stimulated with small electrical currents (electroacupuncture).

Acupuncture causes minute local tissue damage to stimulate the healing process. In return, it draws more blood flow to the area and may relieve pain by releasing endorphin (body’s natural painkiller chemical) and by affecting part of the brain to release more serotonin (brain chemical involved in modulating mood).

The most common conditions I treat with acupuncture are:
• Headaches
• Neck and back pain
• Ankle Sprains
• Knee injuries
• Temporalmandibular Dysfunction (TMD) [jaw pain]
• Osteoarthritis (OA)
• …and more

✨If you want to more know or would like to book an acupuncture appointment, send me an email or DM.

Dr. Tessa Lam

Prior to attending post-secondary school, Dr. Tessa Lam set out intentions of working in a hands-on healthcare profession due to her love of sports and helping others. Dr. Tessa Lam attended the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) where she studied kinesiology and was introduced to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) bridge program during her freshman year. In June 2018, Dr. Lam became the first person to graduate from the UOIT-CMCC bridge program which allowed her to complete a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) in Kinesiology degree and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in seven years, instead of eight.

Dr. Lam’s objective is to help her patients reach their health goals through individualized, evidenced-based treatment plans. She uses a variety of techniques such as spinal and extremity manipulations/mobilizations, myofascial release, acupuncture, rehabilitation exercises, kinesio tape, and modalities.

At the age of 15, Dr. Lam was first introduced to field lacrosse and immediately fell in love with the sport. During her three years at UOIT, Dr. Lam was the goalie for the Women’s Lacrosse team. She was awarded UOIT’s Lacrosse Freshman Athlete of the Year 2011-2012, and Lacrosse MVP 2012-2013 and 2013-2014. Dr. Lam continues to be an active member of the Lady Blue Knights Lacrosse Club as a player, goalie coach, and Chair of the Board. Dr. Lam is also the assistant coach for the Women’s Lacrosse team at Ontario Tech University.

Dr. Lam is excited to be practicing in her hometown of Brooklin, Ontario at Brooklin Rehabilitation Sports Injury Centre; in addition to serving the Downsview community of North York at Wilson Health and Wellness Clinic.
