“Thanks to Ontario Shores, I began to see that life was worth living.
I never thought I’d make it to adulthood. Now I’m excited for what’s next.”

Today, Megan is 18. She continues to learn how to cope, rebuild confidence, and take meaningful steps toward recovery. And she is inspired to give back by sharing her story so others will seek the help they need.
Megan’s journey is a powerful reminder of what your support makes possible.

The Ontario Shores Foundation is proud to recognize our ongoing partnership with the Oshawa Generals Hockey Club , who continue to bring meaningful support and holiday joy to patients at Ontario Shores. Their recent donation from the Teddy Bear 'Generosity' Toss helped make our Geriatrics Patient & Family Holiday Party truly special, with a stuffed animal personally chosen and delivered to every patient.

Join us in celebrating this partnership on January 16 at Ontario Shores Night with the Generals for our annual Chuck-a-Puck fundraiser: tributecommunitiescentre.evenue.net/event/GEN25/A16

Thank you for bringing hope and healing this past Giving Tuesday.

Because of the incredible generosity of our community, including a matching gift from OPG, over $24,000 was inspired to support patients and families in desperate need of life-changing care at Ontario Shores. Thanks to you, our senior, adolescent and forensics patients will have access to essential therapeutic items that help turn hope into healing.
While Giving Tuesday may have passed, the need for hope and healing continues every day. Thank you for standing with us and helping change the face of mental health for the people who need it most.

It’s not too late to make a donation and help bring hope and healing to even more patients this holiday season: https://www.ontarioshores.ca/givingtuesday

Our Story

Founded in 2009, Ontario Shores Foundation for Mental Health was created to raise funds, and support for Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores). Our goal is to also help bring awareness to, and reduce the stigma, surrounding mental illness. Throughout the years, our team, events, and fundraising programs have grown and evolved substantially. Together, we work with the numerous departments at Ontario Shores to lead change so that individuals with mental illness have access to the care they need, and the opportunity to fully participate in an inclusive and stigma-free society. Creating a sense of hope is one of the greatest gifts we can give to those living with complex mental health challenges. Our mission at Ontario Shores Foundation is to help create that hope through the combined efforts of our team, and the generous support of our donors and community. Together we are helping our patients to recover, and giving them that feeling of hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Everything we do is rooted in the principles of Discovery, Recovery, and Hope: Discovery.
