Goodbye kevin!!! Kevin started with ESMC back in Oct 2018. At the time he got thrown into the job, as Matt had suffered an injury and was going to be off for a period of time. He stepped up and made the transition smooth and easy. Since then he has been an important member of the team here.

We are saddened to announce that our RMT/AT Kevin will be saying goodbye to ESMC after the past 6 years. His last day will be on December 20th.

Kevin will be moving and transitioning his practice to Ireland, as he joins his wife who has been working there since 2020. He will still be maintaining his Canadian athletic therapy certification, so those who have athletic therapy benefits, and would like to continue their care with Kevin virtually, can do so. Kevin will be discussing with his current patients options for treatment, and aiding in the transition to another ESMC staff member for those needing to continue care. All personal and medical information will stored and accessible at ESMC.

If you have any questions or would like to remain in contact with Kevin, please reach out to us. We wish Kevin all the best with his big move and new adventure.

Progressive overload is the key to rehab and training. When the stimulus to our body stays the same (eg always using a green theraband for 3x10), our body stays the same.

However, there are many ways we can progress our exercises:
- increase the weight
- increase the number of reps
- increase the number of sets
- decrease rest time
- add a pause
- slow the tempo
- focus on the eccentric/lowering
- go single arm/leg

While it's not always ideal to be doing different exercises every time you go to physio, selecting a few key exercises that match your goals and progressing those is a great way to recover from an injury
