Was it just us or did the Summer fly by? We can hardly believe school is starting again! With an unconventional school year behind us, some kids may feel a little out of practice when returning to a traditional school day structure. 🚌⁠

Here are some educator-approved tips for starting the school year right:⁠
⁠
🖍 Ask for help. New teachers, classes, or even a school can feel intimidating. Encourage your child to ask school educators for help if they are feeling lost or overwhelmed.⁠
⁠
🖍 Make a morning checklist. Kid’s might be a little rusty when it comes to early mornings, manage the chaos by listing all the important items they need to grab (lunch bag, homework, school supplies) before they leave for school⁠
⁠
🖍 Prioritize mental health. Remind your child of the school's resources that are there to support them. Encourage them to seek help if they are feeling overly stressed, anxious, or depressed about the transition.⁠

August 26 is Women’s Equality Day 🚺 A day to encourage and promote equal rights and opportunities for women. As a female-owned business, we know first-hand the barriers women face. Meditation is gaining more attention as a great way to reduce stress and relax 🧘‍♀️ but did you know it also has several brain-boosting side effects? ⁠

Studies show regularly practicing meditation improves our memories, attention span, and learning capabilities by building and strengthening neural connections in the brain. 🧠⁠

Try setting aside just 5 to 10 minutes a day to completely clear your mind and discover the present.

School is around the corner, and with it comes early alarms, homework, and earlier bedtimes. Make the most of your weekdays (and save your sanity) by teaching your child basic time management skills. ⏳⁠

⏰ The littles: Just because they can’t read, doesn’t mean they can’t practice time management. Creating a picture-based schedule of their routine gives children visual cues about what’s next in their day and fosters independence.⁠
⁠
⏰ The big kids: Incorporate a visual timer into their homework session. Having the ability to visualize time helps kids stay on task and work more efficiently.⁠
⁠
⏰ The teens: Set priorities. It's essential kids learn to differentiate between the “Have to's” and the “Want to”. Teach them to prioritize their most essential tasks like school, homework, and sleep, so they have time for the fun stuff like sports and friends.⁠
