Arches Counselling wants to help: Wildfire-affected support. There has been an incredible amount of generosity, community building, and kindness and the effects of so much loss are ongoing.

It may be helpful to hear encouraging messages and hopefulness and it's okay to have moments when holding onto positivity is not what you need. Flipping from hope to anger? One moment feeling hopeful and the next sad? Overwhelmed, fatigued, drained? Yes - It's not always easy to share grief as worry can have us thinking we will burden others. At the same time, it is a lot to hold inside and carry in isolation. It may feel like you should be over it or in a different emotional state. You might be experiencing expectations of and a sense of pressure of what will you do next?

Sometimes it's in the quiet moments that the sense of emptiness, agitation, and or heaviness settles within. Each of us has different stressors and situations - we are here to listen, process, and support you through this time.

Currently thousands of families are displaced due to the wildfires and yet I have seen so many examples of awesomeness. It's reassuring to know out of disaster comes teachings of kindness, community outreach and renewed care for the other.

Thank you elders, peers and teachers of care filled character.
