Tina Gal Counselling Psychology

Tina Gal Counselling Psychology Offering psychological services in Whitecourt and Edmonton, and online throughout Alberta. In my own life, I have experienced how difficulty fuels change.

I work holistically to support individuals dealing with trauma, anxiety, and low self-esteem. My passion for counselling began when I received services from an amazing counsellor and my world changed forever. I strive to live up to this experience and support anxious, depressed, and stressed humans move forward in their lives and relationships. We live in challenging times and many of us feel stressed, depressed, anxious, or disconnected. ...and given the various stressors of life, some people experience that their intimate relationship is no longer intimate. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, or relational concerns, I would love to support you find more connection and move forward in life. Just like diamonds are forged under pressure, and if we have the support we need, we have the potential to grow & thrive. I love connecting with people in the intimate space that is therapy. I love to see individuals and couples change & grow where they thought yesterday change was not possible. I work holistically and enjoy sparking curiosity for the wisdom of your body in session. I am relational, so you won't sit in a session with me wondering what I am thinking: I am honest and direct, yet gentle. I use scientifically-based somatic therapies (clinical hypnotherapy, somatic experiencing), feminist, emotion-focused, & solution-focused modalities.

Yes… My Edmonton Office is Moving Again 😅
🌿 A New (Unexpected) Chapter Begins 🌿

Just one month after settling into Nest Integrative Wellness — and really starting to feel at home — I received the news that they would be closing their doors. It was unexpected, and I gave myself a day to let it sink in… then moved into action mode. There’s only forward.

Thankfully, within two days, I found a new space — and it feels right. Starting next week, I’ll be practicing from my new office in downtown Edmonton:

📍 10707 100 Avenue NW, 3rd Floor
(Just a block north of the Legislature)

When I first walked into the space, I was enchanted — beautifully decorated, full of light, and surrounded by views of trees and sky. Ironically, moving further downtown brought me closer to nature. I think you’ll feel the calm and care the moment you step inside. There’s tea, coffee, water, and space to settle in before your session.

A heartfelt thank you to Levant Psychology Group for the warm welcome — I already feel supported and at ease among kind colleagues.

And thank you — for your trust, flexibility, and continued support through all these transitions. I’m truly grateful.

🚨 Burnout isn’t a personal flaw—it’s a system under too much pressure.

In my work as a psychologist with engineers and tech professionals, I see a clear pattern:

🔹 Extremely high personal standards
🔹 A constant drive to “optimize” everything
🔹 Almost no space to rest, feel, or reset

It’s not weakness. It’s not a lack of resilience. It’s what happens when a system is pushed too hard for too long.

Burnout isn’t just stress—it can feel like numbness, anxiety, or even a trauma response, especially in environments where overwork is the norm.

I wrote more about this in a new article:

If it resonates, you’re not alone. And it doesn’t have to stay this way.

As a psychologist working with engineers and tech professionals, I regularly see the signs of chronic stress: difficulty switching off, creeping detachment from once-meaningful work, or a constant sense of being “on edge.” These aren’t signs of weakness. They’re not a lack of resilience. The...

Finding the right therapist is a personal journey — and it’s completely okay to try a couple of therapists before deciding who feels like the right fit.

I always encourage people to take their time. It’s perfectly valid to come in for a session or two and then decide whether you'd like to continue working with me.

I also offer free 15-minute consults to help you get a feel for things before committing to therapy.

✨ Our Whitecourt office just got a major glow-up — the window signage is finally up! 🙌

From the outside, it’s clean, modern, and welcoming — but step inside, and it’s a whole different story… 🌟

You still get a full, clear view of the outside 👀 while enjoying complete privacy inside. The signage literally disappears from the inside — like magic! 🪄

It’s the perfect mix of privacy, functionality, and style.

Just one more way we’re making the space feel safe, supportive, and truly yours.

📣 After four years, I’m saying goodbye to working out of the Community Counselling Centre on 124 Street in Edmonton.

I’m grateful for everything I’ve learned during this time and for the meaningful connections I’ve made with colleagues along the way. Saying goodbye was touching — a reminder of the relationships that quietly take shape over time.

The good news — I’m not going far.
My new practice is just a one-minute walk away, still right on 124 Street.

Transitions and changes can be good, and I’m appreciating how smooth and natural this one feels.

Stay tuned for updates on the new location — coming soon!

💬 MYTH 2: “Asking for help is a sign of weakness.”

Let’s be honest:
A lot of men were raised to tough it out, keep it in, and handle things alone. But bottling it up doesn’t make you strong—it just makes things heavier.

🛑 Avoiding help = emotional immaturity
✅ Real strength = knowing when to reach out

There’s nothing weak about saying, “I’m not okay.”
In fact, it takes real courage to open up and face what’s going on beneath the surface.

Whether it’s stress, burnout, anger, or just feeling off—talking to someone gives you space to breathe, reflect, and move forward with clarity.

👥 Therapy isn’t about fixing you.
It’s about understanding yourself better—and learning how to show up fully in your life and relationships.

📩 If you're ready for a real conversation, I’m here. No pressure. No judgment.

🌿 A Sneak Peek Into My Whitecourt Office ✨

I’m excited to share a little glimpse of my office space — it’s honestly turned into such a cozy, calming environment, far more than just four walls and two chairs. It’s become a place where people can take a breath, settle in, and feel at ease.

I’ve put a lot of love into creating a space that feels warm and grounding — somewhere that’s more like a peaceful retreat than a typical office. Whether you’re here for your first session or just need a quiet place to land, my hope is that you’ll feel comfort the moment you walk through the door.

📍 Whitecourt Location
I’m currently welcoming new clients 🧡

If you’re looking for a space to slow down, reflect, and reset, I’d love to work with you.
