Another inspiring Indigenous Women Entrepreneur Conference here in Whitehorse, Yukon 📍🏔️

Mahsi cho to and for creating this space — you could feel the quiet strength in the room with that many Indigenous women coming together 🤍👩🏽‍🤝‍👩🏾

Some of my ancestors traveled west with the North West Company and Hudson’s Bay Company in the early 18th century, eventually joining with local communities. You might call them nomads 😉 These fur trader families settled in the Athabasca Valley, homesteading the region for over a century until the Jasper Exodus.

Our community carries a deep-rooted relationship with the land — grounded in horsemanship, trapping, guiding, and outfitting 🐎🌲 With over 200 years of lived knowledge in wildlife and wilderness stewardship, that connection continues to guide how we live, work, and share these places today.

Proud to carry forward the otipemisiwak — the freemen spirit — and pass it on to my boys 💛👣

Otipemisiwak is a Nehiyaw (Cree) word meaning “those who own themselves,” “the people who rule themselves,” or “the people who are their own boss.”

Come experience Indigenous tourism rooted in story, land, and legacy 🌿🏔️

Well this was my highlight of the opening ceremony of the Arctic Winter Games! It came up from behind us and scared the s**t out of everyone and then circled back around. ✈️

Wednesday at the office, with trusty sidekick in tow. Spring’s trying! Clients got out for a horse tour and ski, sleeping in the barrels tonight. Hoping we don’t go below -20, but this wrangler will still be up at 5 lighting fires🔥

Northern Nomad Outdoors- Life in the last few days… -40 mornings, but ponies are happy and we’re getting out for afternoon skis, sauna and yoga in the evenings. Winter life just makes regular things that much more difficult, but that’s where the reward comes in.

The tiniest wall tent in all the land🏕️This is a 8*10, sitting on a makeshift 10*12 frame lol. But we made do.
