The Millennium Trail has been woven through my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve walked and run here with family, friends, and now my own children. It has always been a place where I feel connected, grounded, and close to nature without having to leave city limits.
After the recent events, I felt a deep sadness for a place that has always felt safe and special. These trails matter, and every person in our community deserves to enjoy them without fear.
Today, at the spontaneous community gathering for safety, something shifted. Surrounded by hundreds of people, I felt the beginning of healing and a sense of trust slowly returning.
Thank you to the organizers, to those who stood along the path offering encouragement, and to the people who shared warm coffee at the end. These small gestures made a meaningful impact and helped lift a heaviness I didn’t fully realize I was carrying.
Keep showing up.
Keep moving forward.
Healing happens in community. 💗
