NWTel outage notice
Northwestel is conducting planned network maintenance on Wednesday September 25th, 2024, between midnight and 6am. During this time, customers across the Yukon can expect a disruption to services for up to 4 hours. Cellular and data services, and some landline calling, will be impacted. This outage may affect your ability to call 911.
If you need emergency help, always try calling 911 first. Try on a landline if possible. If you don’t get through, send someone to report the emergency in person.
> In Whitehorse, go to the Whitehorse General Hospital, or one of the fire halls located on 305 Range Road (at the top of Two Mile Hill) or 105 Black Street.
> Outside of Whitehorse, go to your local RCMP detachment or use the phone located on the outside of your local health centre, which will connect you to the nurse on call or 911 if there is no nurse available. In Dawson City and Watson Lake, you can also go to the hospital.
You can also report an emergency to any emergency vehicle including police vehicles, ambulances, and fire vehicles. During the planned outage, Emergency Medical Services will have ambulances located at:
- Qwanlin Mall
- Canada Games Centre
- North 60 Petrol Wann Road/Alaska Highway
- Entrance to Whistle Bend
- Corner of Robert Service Way and Alaska Highway
- Carcross Cut Off
- Corner of Hamilton Boulevard and Lazulite Drive
