Moon Gate is nestled on the banks of the Whitemouth River, Treaty 3 territory. 100% Métis owned, the house is eco-friendly with solar power and geothermally heated and cooled. Amenities include:

Large 6-8 person Finnish-style sauna

This full-day outdoor experience will immerse you in the rich heritage of the Métis people with:

📙 Stories of the fur trade & bison hunt

🤝 Meaningful dialogue on Truth & Reconciliation

Who remembers a family trip that lives in your heart forever? ❤️
Maybe it was a one-time adventure, or maybe it’s a place you return to year after year—like Kristin, Darren, and their two kids, who’ve been coming to Moon Gate every summer. Watching their children grow has been such a joy (and yes, we think our wood-fired pizza might have something to do with it 🍕😉).

At Moon Gate, family comes in many forms—a single parent and their little ones, furry four-legged companions, or cousins flying across the ocean to reconnect.

🌿 It's been a bit of a strange summer, hasn’t it?

With the fire ban and provincial state of emergency, things have been quieter than usual around Moon Gate and our Pizza Nights. Or maybe — just maybe — the land (and us too) needed a little pause.

Running a business while going with the flow can be a challenge. But what we've noticed in the stillness is something beautiful: couples and small groups seeking a reset. They come for Reflexology, Reiki, plant walks, nourishing food, and that deep connection to the elements — Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.

✨ This is what we do best: create space to rest, to reconnect, and to remember your place in the natural world.

🌊 Whitemouth River Wisdom 🌿

Did you know the river flowing past Moon Gate Guest House is part of an ancient waterway once traveled by Métis traders, Anishinaabe paddlers, and early settlers?

These waters carry stories, medicine, and life through the land — feeding forests, wildlife, and the soul.

Did you know that this river is home to the Carmine Shiner, a federally listed species at risk? The Carmine Shiner is a silvery-coloured minnow. Its name comes from the bright red colour that appears on the head and pectoral fins of the breeding male. Although rare, an isolated population of Carmine Shiners has been found in southern Manitoba. They have been recorded in the Whitemouth, Birch and Bird river systems, and may also occur in the Red River in southern Manitoba.

Whether you dip your toes and let the minnows nibble, walk the river in contemplation, or simply sit and listen, the river invites you to slow down and remember your connection to the natural world.

Meet Pedro – our resident good boy, expert greeter, and nature-loving napper. He’s here to remind you that Moon Gate Guest House is pet-friendly! Whether you're staying overnight in the Round House or just visiting for our wood-fired pizza nights (Fridays & Saturdays, 5–9 PM), your well-behaved pups are welcome too.

Take a stroll by the river, relax in the gazebo, share a sunset, and enjoy a slice – all with your furry companion by your side.
