Yesterday of Owen Sound declared a significant weather event.
We want to let everyone know that Safe 'N Sound is open to anyone needing warmth. We are here to provide warmth to the people that are homeless, people struggling with heating bills, anyone needing a warm shower to get rid of chills, anyone with a broken furnace that can't be repaired until after the storm, and all other reasons members of the community might just need a warm place to go. If you need us, come in for a coffee and a chat ☕

As a grassroots nonprofit that relies on fundraising, we are deeply grateful for everyone who has already signed up for the Coldest Night of the Year walk on February 22nd. Your involvement makes a real difference in our ability to serve our community year-round, especially during harsh winter days.
To those still considering joining us for CNOY, we hope these recent weather events highlight the vital role Safe 'N Sound plays in our community. Your support, whether through walking, donating, or spreading the word, helps ensure we can continue to be there for our neighbours in need, no matter the weather.

South Bruce Peninsula is thrilled to welcome Dr. Farhoud and Dr. Mylash Mylvaganam to South Bruce Peninsula!

Dr. Farhoud will be accepting a limited number of patients from the area who currently do not have a primary care physician. In addition to his primary care clinic, he will also contribute to the Emergency Department and inpatient care unit at the Wiarton Hospital. If you are without a primary care physician, you can contact Dr. Farhoud's office at 519-534-2268 ext. 228.

Dr. Mylash Mylvaganam is joining the Sauble Family Health Team and will be accepting patients in a primary care capacity. Residents of South Bruce Peninsula or the surrounding area who do not currently have a primary care physician can contact the Sauble Family Health Team for a patient registration form at saublefht@gmail.com or call 519-422-2665.

We extend our congratulations to the SWMD QUEST and our wonderful local doctors for their hard work in attracting new physicians to our community. Together, we are building a healthier South Bruce Peninsula!

Please if you are able to donate, it would be helpful and much appreciated!

List of donations that are our biggest priority in May. We are very grateful to all our followers that bring in items from our monthly lists. Thank you! ❤️
Some items that are not on the list that are always needed include underwear, socks, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, shaving supplies, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We do require the underwear to be new and shampoo, conditioner and body wash to be in unused bottles.
If you have items to donate that are not on the list, please message us. We can let you know if it's something needed by us or might be better suited for another agency. Also, it helps us best utilize our limited storage.
As always, donations can be dropped off at our front door during operating hours. 310 8th St East, Owen Sound between 9am-3pm.

Even if you do not win, you will know that your money has gone to a good cause. This year the Rotary Club of Wiarton has supported a Mental Health Program at all 4 local schools – Sauble, Neyaashiinigmiing, and both the elementary and secondary schools in Wiarton. Oh….and you know The Big Guy in the red suit that comes at the end of the parade in December? He would not have a float to ride on if it was not for Rotary. Of course there is also the Food Bank, library, school playgrounds, etc…etc. Help us to help others in our community.

Great idea!

Thank you to everyone so far that has enthusiastically supported us in purchasing tents or bringing in tents for donation.
Unfortunately, we have a wait-list and foresee this continuing through the spring/summer months.
So, if you are interested in contributing to sponsoring a tent, for $75 we are able to provide a 3-person tent for a vulnerable person that is homeless.
