Prairie Sky Recovery Centre

Prairie Sky Recovery Centre Prairie Sky Recovery Centre is a privately operated 24-bed drug and alcohol treatment centre As a result, we have helped over 1680 clients to date.

Prairie Sky Recovery Centre was founded in 2008 by people who had learned to manage their substance use disorders and wanted to help others. After purchasing a derelict heritage building, Ardyth & friends renovated the 20, 000 square foot building with the intention of housing both men and women who were seeking help for addiction. She wanted clients to understand themselves and their disease of a

ddiction so that they are able move forward to live a life of recovery. Utilizing a 12 step model, Ardyth began the development of our unique Emotional Health and Wellness program, aimed at educating clients on emotional regulation, mental health and the effects of trauma. Prairie Sky Recovery’s Vision is simple- We are a client-centered, evidence-based, trauma-responsive addictions facility. Our therapeutic, innovative, and holistic programs and services, assist clients to experience personal transformation from a life of addiction into a life of Recovery. Proudly, our moto is Healing Happens Here. We have daily intakes and have created a flexible client schedule that moves and bends to accommodate clients from start to finish. Early in the development of our unique programs, we understood that addiction is not a “one size fits all” scenario. Clients who come to us have experienced trauma, pain, mental health issues and often financial, criminal, and martial issues. To address the multitude of issues that plague our clients we have come up with alternative programming and a unique delivery method. In 2019, CEO Jacqueline Hoffman created extended program length from the original 5 weeks to include 8 and 12 week options. The increased time allowed clients time to do the additional modules that were created to address specific themes and issues present in those who have been affected by substance use.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of a former staff, alumni and family member Joy Zybtovsky with you. Joy was Ardyth's cousin, but also best friend. Joy was an active member of the PSR Community and shared her message of recovery, resilence and strength with many people during her lifetime. We are saddended by this loss, and send love and prayers to all who loved her- which was many. We know that Joy is at peace, and probably playing a mean hand of Spite & Malice with Ardyth and Sharlene.
* Please note that a funeral will be held in Unity, SK this summer.

This Week In The News: From Evidence Supporting Incentive-Based Treatment to New Recovery-Focused Hubs and Ongoing Calls for Involuntary Care

“If the word involuntary is too hard for anybody to hear, call it something else. I don't care. I don't want my son to be in a state where he requires that level of care, but he is and they're ignoring it. They are willfully ignoring it.”
